Support Worker/ Personal Assistant - Are you personable, supportive and comfortable around dogs and enjoy working on a one-to-one basis? If so we are looking for a Support Worker to work alongside our vision impaired Hub Coordinator to empower them to fulfil their role in Great Yarmouth.
You will be assisting our Hub Coordinator with admin and computer tasks, driving to meetings and events across the County.

About the role:
As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing business support to a vision-impaired employee, helping them to navigate their daily tasks effectively. You'll be their trusted guide, ensuring they can access information, locations, and services seamlessly. This role is perfect for a team player who thrives in a supportive, dynamic environment and able to maintain professional boundaries, providing support only as requested by the employee.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Driving your colleague, and their guide dog, to various meetings across Norfolk, approximately 100 miles per month.
- Assist in navigating different locations and ensuring awareness of room layouts and hazards.
- Read and transcribe written information, access specialist computer software, and handle office procedures such as photocopying and faxing.
- Take detailed notes during meetings and transcribe them accurately to support the employee in providing top-tier services.
About you:
You have a deep understanding of the barriers faced by disabled individuals and a commitment to the social model of disability. Your strong literacy and numeracy skills ensure you are confident in reading, writing, and managing numerical data accurately. As a car owner, you must provide your own vehicle (business mileage will be paid), ensuring it is roadworthy, insured for business use, and meets all legal requirements.
Proactive and professional in your approach, you always act in a professional manner. Comfortable with dogs and be able to respect the guide dog's role and maintaining high standards of service. You excel as a team player, working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure Vision Norfolk's services are of the highest quality.
