Applications are invited for a full-time, temporary Interim Director of Global Engagement working in the International Education Centre within the Marketing, Communications & Recruitment department.
Are you a visionary and inspiring leader, with the enthusiasm and energy to drive a new Global Engagement Strategy on behalf of a leading Welsh University? Bangor University is seeking an Interim Director of Global Engagement who will lead us to new levels of success in all areas of international engagement, including student recruitment, trans-national education, partnerships, mobility and admissions. Working with the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Global) and Chief Marketing Officer, you will provide strategic leadership to a highly talented team of professionals. You will spearhead the delivery of our new Global Engagement Strategy, which includes the following areas:
• Grow and diversify our student population.
• Develop our partnerships.
• Establish our Global Bangor brand.
• Embed our Global mindset.
Candidates should be educated to degree level or equivalent and will have extensive experience within the higher education sector, demonstrating a successful record in delivering international recruitment and partnership ambitions whilst empowering students to achieve their ambitions. Applicants will have significant, relevant senior management experience in a higher education setting and will be able to provide evidence of achievement in the development and delivery of international strategy and policy.
The successful candidate will be expected to commence as soon as possible and the post is available up to 31 October 2025.
This role will be located on campus at Bangor. Through our Dynamic Working framework, there will also be the option to spend some time working remotely (although remaining in the UK) to support work life balance, which will be discussed further with candidates at interview.
Some overseas travel will be required.
