Your new role

• To support the Head of People, to develop and deliver a high quality, future facing OD/HR service across the organisation.
• Work with the Head of People, to ensure organisational development initiatives are integrated and support the achievement of business goals.
• To work closely with the two Business Manager peers in the team to ensure priorities are on track, deadlines are monitored and client feedback on the service provision discussed, and appropriate action taken.
• Design, deliver and lead on organisational development and change management interventions and initiatives that support the organisation\'s ambitions and deliver the OD & HR strategy.
• Ensure all organisational development interventions and programmes are cost effective and appropriately evaluated to measure their impact
• Design and deliver effective interventions and approach to talent and succession management, to nurture and develop aspiring talent and building capacity for the future.
• Ensure there is a robust process for identifying, capturing and prioritising training needs, both organisationally and on an individual basis, assessing and reporting on return on investment.
• Produce and present reports on key related matters for the Councils Committees and other relevant officer and Member groups, making recommendations for action.
• Contribute to the development of relevant workforce metrics and analytics to guide and inform the organisations\' workforce development plans and priorities.
• Work across the function, in conjunction with all team members to provide efficient, value for money and fit for purposes HR services.
• Coach and support line managers on all matters related to the culture, engagement and wellbeing agenda.

What you\'ll need to succeed

• Academic qualification to degree level in HRM/CIPD Level 7 or equivalent or relevant work experience (E)
• Evidence of ongoing professional updating and development (E)
• Substantial Learning and Development / OD / HR experience (operational and strategic) (E)
• Experience of working in a unionised environment (D)
• Experience of designing, developing and implementing learning and development initiatives (E)
• Proven ability to develop a good understanding of service issues and how to identify and deliver OD interventions and solutions to meet organisational needs (E)
• Experience of working in a wellbeing related role or be able to demonstrate a good understanding of wellbeing issues and initiatives in the workplace (E)
• Experience of promoting and co-ordinating succession planning and corporate talent development initiatives such as apprenticeships, graduate and leadership programmes (D)
• Experience of working with HR colleagues to embed the performance management and development framework to raise individual and organisational performance (E)
• A sound understanding of EDI in the workplace and the ability to encourage inclusive practices and employee engagement (E)
• Previous experience within the Public Sector (D)
• Manages time effectively and delivers against agreed objectives (E)
• Communicates clearly and effectively, using the right method (E)
• Well developed diplomatic, listening skills with the ability to negotiate and influence (E)
