Your new role
Your new role will see you working across multiple mechanical and HVAC designs across the above-mentioned sectors.
This consultancy is looking for an engineer who wants to invest in their vocation, so your role will not only include the completion of designs but also mentoring junior staff, engaging with internal and external stakeholders, attending site visits and running jobs.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role you will have a minimum of 6 years' UK Mechanical Building Services experience, have an ambition to grow within your career and have a forward-looking attitude towards not only your development but those around you. You must be familiar with standard design software and RIBA 1-4.

Your new Firm

Your new role
As the new Tax and Accounts Senior, you will be responsible for completing corporate, personal and partnership tax returns for a varied industry client base. You will also produce year-end tax returns and accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies. You will also prepare VAT returns to be reviewed by the senior member of the tax and accounts team.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful Tax and Accounts Senior will ideally be AAT or ATT qualified with experience of working in tax and accounting in an established accountancy firm. Study support is on offer if you are not qualified.Good working knowledge of accounting programmes such as Sage, Zero and CCH Central would be beneficial.
A desire to work well in a team environment and to engage with clients is a must.

We are looking for people who have a track record of successful technical leadership and delivery of projects, who can work as part of a team to deliver safety-based solutions and have the confidence to promote Human Factors best practice. NNL are at the forefront of nuclear research and development in the UK and beyond with a wide range of projects that require creative Human Factors support and we are looking for individuals who want to join our team and make a difference to these projects. There will also be an opportunity to apply and shape Human Factors practice in the nuclear industry and contribute to research in this area.
The team you will join is a dedicated, hard-working group who are passionate about the work they do. We support working flexibly, can accommodate homeworking, and can be flexible about location, although some travel will be necessary, to support business needs.

The location for this role is flexible and can be based at Sellafield, Preston, Risley or Workington.

Main Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities for Senior Human Factors Consultant:

• You can apply Human Factors methods in a wide variety of circumstances because you are up to date with developments in methodology and approach.
• You can lead technical delivery of projects to meet customer requirements.
• You are experienced in providing support to multi-disciplinary teams addressing safety challenges.
• You are experienced in the support and development of junior colleagues.
• You can manage and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• You can provide support to bids for new work.
• You will use your creativity and initiative to develop new capabilities for the Human Factors team, through innovative approaches that include being the technical lead on complex R&D projects and submissions.
• You will be interested in developing the Human Factors team through mentoring and supervision.
• You can design and deliver specialist Human Factors training within the team and across NNL.

Ideal Candidate

Essential Criteria for Senior Human Factors Consultant:

• Extensive experience in integrating and applying Human Factors methods, preferably in a safety critical environment.
• Degree qualified or equivalent level of demonstrable technical capability.
• Excellent level of knowledge in the field of Human Factors.
• Proven ability to act independently, under own initiative, while supervising other members of the team.
• Strong communication skills, including remote working.
• Excellent teamworking skills, with ability to inspire the work of a team.
• Ability to obtain SC level security clearance (this includes but is not limited to identity, employment, financial and criminal record checks plus 5 years' worth of UK residency).

Desirable Criteria for Senior Human Factors Consultant:

• Detailed knowledge of advanced Human Factors techniques
• Experienced in mentoring and developing technical skills.
• Preferably Chartered Membership of a professional institution.
• Excellent networking skills, maintaining network across the Human Factors field nationally.
• You might have membership of relevant national industry group(s).
