This role is for a Senior Procurement Specialist in the centralised procurement team within Finance, reporting to the Deputy Head of Procurement. In this role you will play a key role in the delivery of a business-critical IT project which will take the form of multiple interdependent procurement projects and negotiations. The post holder will be required to meet fixed deadlines whilst identifying commercial strategies to ensure the successful delivery of all procurements related to this project. The role will also require supporting other areas of the team as directed by the line manager.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will have strong experience of working within a strategic procurement environment. In this role the candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with the IT department on identification of the requirements as well as lead market engagement and manage delivery of multiple procurement exercises to a successful outcome.
The post holder will have responsibility for the strategic sourcing and commercial management of designated goods, services and work-related commodities, ensuring maximisation of cost efficiencies through the implementation of best procurement practice. The Senior Procurement Specialist will take the lead and be responsible for their assigned commodity portfolio, particularly focussing on value for money against business needs, risk reduction and delivery of sustainable procurement outcomes.
Applicants should have a relevant degree or equivalent. You should have sound experience in a strategic procurement environment, a strong working knowledge of legislation and contract law and a proven record of accomplishment in delivering robust commercially sound IT contracts.

What you need to do now
- Pre-employment health screening: An offer of appointment will be subject to a medical assessment by Occupational Health. An individual who accepts an offer of employment must complete a confidential medical questionnaire and forward it to the Occupational Health Nurse within 5 days of receipt. If further information is required, the individual may be contacted by the OHN or a Medical Advisor and a personal appointment with the individual may be arranged. An unconditional contract of employment will not be issued until Human Resources receives confirmation that the applicant is fit to undertake the duties of the post.
- Probation: Where applicable, the successful applicant will be required to serve a 9-month probationary period.
