Your new role

Job SummaryThe role encompasses a wide range of duties within the Finance department using Sage 200 accounting package and Excel.Broadly, this role includes purchase ledger, sales queries and credit control, bank reconciliations, petty cash, VAT returns, royalty reporting, asset register and customer profitability analysis, together with general office/reception duties.
The Key Responsibilities
Maintenance of both the UK and foreign purchase ledgers including registering invoices, issuing for authorisation, full analysis, timely payment generation (BACS and bank transfers processing) and statement checking.
To be the first point of contact for customer debit note queries. Liaise with both internal and external Supply Chain and Marketing departments to resolve and clear the queries in line with relevant customer procedures.Responsible for collecting outstanding customer debts, to include sending monthly statements, contacting customers regarding late payment, dealing with any queries on the account and flagging any issues to the Management Accountant for escalation.Maintenance of Sage 200 Cashbook to include the input of all receipts and payments, production of monthly bank reconciliations for all accounts, plus timely submissions of the invoice finance bank reconciliations to HSBC. Calculation and journal input of any exchange gains and losses.Responsible for petty cash distribution, monthly reconciliation and journal input to Sage 200.Reconciliation and processing of monthly VAT returns and quarterly Plastic Tax submission, ensuring deadlines are met.Royalty reporting to include calculation of monthly liabilities and journal processing.
Preparation and submission of quarterly royalty statements, using various methods required by Licensors, to meet all deadlines.Responsibility for maintaining and updating asset register, together with calculation and processing of monthly depreciation.Input of monthly customer profitability spreadsheets.Assisting with year-end procedures, helping with audit pack preparation.Any other duties reasonably requested by the Management Accountant or Finance Director.

Excellent IT skills
Confidence and accuracy with numbers and the ability to be totally confidential.
Previous finance experience is essential.
