About the Role
We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and flexible Business Support Officer to provide comprehensive support to the core business needs of the Corporate HR Servicer to cover maternity leave for up to 12 months. The position will work within the HR Business Support Hub, that delivers supports to areas including Recruitment, Payroll, HR Advisory and Health & Safety. The team provides front line workforce resourcing advice and guidance to managers and employees, ensuring that policies and processes are followed, and data is maintained in a timely and accurate manner within a growing “self-service” environment.
You will assist in co-ordinating recruitment campaigns from initial advice to appointment including the publication of vacancies on e-recruitment, ensuring that information provided to applicants is clear, concise and correct, and that vetting procedures are carried out in full.
The Council is always looking to continually improve the service provided to our residents and customers, which is why this is an exciting time to be part of this environment and the new strategies that will be evolving to deliver this, with business support playing a key role in many of the changes.

Candidate Profile
You will have good numeracy skills and a proven ability to work within a team environment.
You will have a keen interest in HR issues including contract and employment law.
The ability to follow processes, maintain excellent records of activity, prioritise workloads to ensure deadlines are met and work with minimum supervision is essential.
An excellent understanding of customer service requirements and a commitment to provide excellent customer service together with the ability to deal calmly and professionally with difficult and or sensitive situations is also essential.
