We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Domestic Cleaner to join our hospital cleaning team. The Domestic Cleaner will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment within the hospital premises, ensuring that all areas are hygienic and free from potential hazards. The ideal candidate will possess excellent cleaning skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced health care setting.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine cleaning tasks throughout the hospital, including patient rooms, operating rooms, waiting areas, corridors, and common areas
- Dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors
- Clean and sanitise surfaces, equipment, and furniture using appropriate cleaning agents and disinfectants
- Empty trash cans and dispose of waste in accordance with hospital policies and procedures
- Clean and replenish supplies in restrooms, including soap, paper towels, and toilet paper
- Ensure that all cleaning equipment and supplies are properly stored and maintained
- Report any maintenance or repair needs to the supervisor promptly
- Adhere to infection control protocols and follow all safety guidelines to prevent the spread of infections and maintain a hazard-free environment
- Collaborate with other members of the cleaning team to ensure efficient and effective cleaning operations
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a cleaner, preferably in a hospital or health care setting
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques and procedures
- Familiarity with cleaning agents and disinfectants used in health care environments
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects when required
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
Working Conditions:
The Domestic Cleaner will primarily work in a hospital setting, which may involve exposure to various health care environments, including patient rooms, operating rooms, and emergency departments. The role may require standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods. The candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced and potentially stressful environment.
You will be required to hold a Valid DBS for this role,this role will be starting asap
Hours are Monday to Friday 2200 -0700 to cover the whole of DEC but training will commence in Nov
