2BM Recruitment Ltd are working in partnership with a supplier of products for the oil and gas industry, to recruit a Technical Buyer for their Stockport site on a permanent contract. The organisation, who are seeking a Technical Buyer to join their purchasing team have experience on a global scale, with innovation and investment into new technology.
• Salary circa £40k - £41k (Depending on experience & skills)

The Technical Buyer will report to the Commercial Manager and will help develop an efficient and effective purchasing department, specifically in areas of policy and procedure, with experience in highly regulated environments such as Oil and Gas, Nuclear, Scientific etc.
Key Responsibilities
• Extract drawings, part reports, from engineering drawings and database information to compile technical RfQ (Request for Quote) for Tier 2 suppliers and OEM part manufacturers
• Working in the purchasing department with a good understanding of RAW material specifications. Knowledge of common Oil and Gas standard materials is advantageous. (For example Norsok M650, DNV-GL-RP0034, API 6A.)
• Continually appraise and develop the company’s supply chain to improve and reduce the EFACS supplier database were possible
• Liaise with Suppliers, Production Control and Quality Department for engineering drawing/specification changes.
• Monitor suppliers’ performance to ensure that the approved suppliers achieve the goals set during the management review and produce a monthly report highlighting performance
We’re extremely keen to talk to people who have experience of working as a Technical Buyer / Engineering OEM Buyer / Raw Materials Purchaser that are ideally from a mechanical engineering background and have the following:
• Ability to read engineering drawings is essential
• Ability to interpret technical specifications.
• Mechanical Engineering Background / Experience in purchasing raw material, engineered products and services
• Sub contract / OEM Manufacturing experience highly desired
