Human Resources Business Partner
Type: Permanent, 36.25hrs/pw (Mon-Fri)
Location: Low Moor, Bradford. This is a fully on-site role
We are looking for an experienced HR professional to support Supply Chain Function in the UK&I. This role is based at our Bradford manufacturing plant and is a fully onsite position, with responsibility for our multi-site legal entity. Most manufacturing activities are carried out at our site in Bradford (which counts around 550 employees, and 8 plants across 40 acres), but we also have significant operations at our site in Grimsby. Your role will be to oversee HR-related matters for both locations.
In addition to being the HR Lead for this entity, which represents our biggest manufacturing plant worldwide, you will also be supporting another HRBP with the wider supply chain network around the UK.
This is an exciting position, which fresh challenges attending who will take the role, as we are currently engaged in the early stages of a merger, with all the changes this brings. Of course you will not be alone, as you will be joining a team of eight HR colleagues, and reporting to the HR Director for UK & Ireland.
Purpose of the job
You will be responsible for delivering a customer-driven and comprehensive people service, aligning both people and commercial business strategies, and translating these into HR actions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Strategy Development
Contributing to the strategic direction of the people function
Facilitating effective implementation of new people initiatives in designated areas
Ensuring the alignment of people strategies with existing company policies and procedures, and updating as required
Ensuring any strategic changes / implementation of a people cycle are cascaded to all areas of the business and the relevant training is received on new ways of working.
2) Meeting the Business Need
Building successful relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
Developing strong networks across the UK/Ireland and Global/European stakeholders
Building working relationships with Unions to facilitate a collaborative working practice
Undertaking specific project work as required (e.g. Change Projects).
3) Supporting Line Managers
4) Resourcing
Providing recruitment advice to all departments as required
Ensuring agreed recruitment processes are followed
Liaising closely with Talent Acquisition team on all recruitment matters
Personally support the successful appointment of senior vacancies
Identifying training needs and liaising with Managers and Business Partners to ensure effective training and development plans are in place for individuals and teams
Reviewing gaps in leadership capability with senior management and developing action plans.
5) ER Advice
Working closely with Line Managers on all ER issues, ensuring all ER matters are managed appropriately, with correct application of HR policies
Supporting the promotion of a culture of performance, change orientation and improvement.
Where appropriate, challenging existing ways of working to ensure all staff align with the Company policy and norms
Assisting in the review of performance management processes and implementing agreed action plans where required.
6) People Metrics
Collating and reporting on all People metrics as required (e.g. absence, turnover, etc.)
Owning the people costs for your area, ensuring budget compliance and reporting monthly on the metrics.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED
10+ years of experience in HR roles, including as HRBP for a large operation/department.
Experience working in a manufacturing or FMCG site, and in a Supply Chain environment, ideally supporting a global, corporate organization.
Strong experience of working in a unionized environment with collective bargaining experience.
Educated to “A” level, HND or equivalent (essential).
Experience managing large reorganizations (desirable)
Experience managing a broad range of training and development.
Experience in coaching and mentoring individuals and management teams.
Able to travel to the other sites on a regular basis with the possibility of overnight stays.
