Job Description
The Ares team is seeking a Human Resources Project Manager to manage major initiatives for the Human Resources organization. This position will report directly to the Head of the HR PMO. The individual in this role will play a critical function in supporting a project management strategy and approach across the HR organization. This role will also manage a series of cross-functional projects for the HR department, as well as representing HR in broader engagements for the organization. The ideal candidate for this role will be flexible yet structured and will have a demonstrated track record of effective project management.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: Head of Human Resources Projects
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Partner with the Head of the HR PMO and the HR Leadership team by providing project management and execution support to achieve the desired goals.
- Coordinate and collaborate with HR team members across multiple locations to plan and implement initiatives and projects of all sizes.
- Develop detailed project plans from the ground up using SmartSheet, MS Project, Excel or other project planning software.
- Develop project tools, including, weekly status reports, intake form, project charter, leadership briefings, etc. and define optimal approach to collect and share this information.
- Project manage internal critical initiatives such as mergers & acquisitions and new office location openings.
- Manage HR projects, applying proven project management processes to ensure successful outcomes. This includes managing and documenting resource allocation, budget, tracking of project status, timeline, risks, dependencies, issues, and communication of project updates to senior stakeholders across the firm.
- Support projects and key HR stakeholders by conducting analysis, assessing risk, determining cost benefit, identifying cross-project impact and dependencies, proposing solutions / options, developing presentations, coordinating and facilitating meetings, working sessions and workshops.
- Support annual Program and Project management planning.
- Ensure allocation of resources in accordance to priority; track and provide full transparency on actions, budgets, and results.
- Advise and participate in change management plans and execution.
- Align to HR PMO governance, structure, tools and templates, and further HR PMO maturity by contributing ideas and continuous improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Master’s Degree preferred
Experience Required:
- 7+ years’ experience in a role with a focus on program/project management and HR
- Proven experience leading large-scale HR projects at a global organization from inception through implementation
- Previous consulting experience preferred
- PMP and / or HR certification is preferred
- Strong MS Project and/or Smartsheet abilities preferred
- Experience providing updates to senior leaders, including C-suite executives
- Experience building and generating project tools and roadmaps
- Current industry leading practice expertise regarding project management and HR
- Must be an excellent communicator (oral and written)
- Ability to engage and contribute to a highly collaborative working environment with both functional and technical team members
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.
$130,000-$160,000
