Clinical Pharmacist Specialist (Informatics) operates within a multidisciplinary informatics team, offering specialized support in the design, execution, and ongoing optimization of clinical data analysis to drive improvements in care delivery and operational strategies. Duties of this position include but are not limited to:

• Uses SQL (and other programming languages) and data-related tools to extract, transform, load, analyze, and visualize data to support clinical decision-making and healthcare operational needs.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Perform radiation surveys, post appropriate caution signs, and distribute personnel monitoring devices as required. Monitor and properly store any radioactive waste for disposal.
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of personnel requiring film badges. Read and understand the film badge exposure report. Determine exposure patterns and recommend actions to reduce exposure levels to the public, radiation workers and self.
• Prepare studies for nuclear medicine physician's interpretation by insuring completeness of all forms involved in the procedure. Record appropriate data and related information on the proper patient worksheet and images.
• Work with closely with schedulers for patient procedures, taking into consideration camera availability, scan length, patient condition, the need for multiple nuclear medicine studies, other clinic appointments of the patient, contraindications for the test and urgency of the request. Inform patient of all pertinent preparations for his/her scan, i.e., NPO, follow certain diet, bowel prep, etc. Ensure any printed patient information sheets are updated and relevant. Follows VHA Radiology Orders Management Directives and conducts scheduling audits.
• Perform required technical procedures for safe receipt, handling, transport, usage and disposal of radioactive materials, assuring compliance with Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), National Health Physics Program (NHPP), Department of Transportation (DOT) and license conditions. Recognize potential radiation contamination by visual and mechanical methods. Take necessary actions to minimize contamination and exposure including contacting the Radiopharmacy and radiation safety officer if needed.

The hospitalist (MD) position is in the Medical Unit within the Acute Care Service Line at the Northern Arizona VA Healthcare System. The hospitalists' functions are to provide accurate, reliable, and comprehensive history and physical examination of the patients admitted to Acute Care Medical Unit for inpatient diagnosis and treatment, and provide routine daytime care for medical inpatients. The patients will be assessed in person in the Emergency Department or Medical Unit, and the hospitalist staff will make rounds on weekends and holidays.

The hospitalist (MD) must work cooperatively as a member of the Medical Unit team and demonstrate customer service principles in all aspects of work. The hospitalist (MD) will perform job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital procedures, including telemetry monitoring and patient care-related procedures. The hospitalist (MD) reports to the Medical Director, Acute Care Service Line, but must work in collaboration with the Medical Unit Nurse Manager, Assistant Nurse Manager, Charge Nurse, Staff Nurses, nursing assistants, medical instrument technicians, and other Medical Unit hospitalists.
