We are offering a full-time Band 6 (indicative) Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist position across York and Selby.

We seek someone who displays leadership skills and who is a passionate advocate for our patients, and committed to both personal and team development. You will independently manage your caseload, lead group interventions, and deliver training. Collaboration with multiple agencies and specialties is essential to effectively support the children and families in our care.

Clinical Responsibilities
• Provide specialist speech and language therapy for paediatric patients with complex needs, including speech, language, communication, and swallowing difficulties.
• Manage an independent caseload of patients with complex communication, learning, physical, psychological, and cognitive conditions.
• Maintain accurate records in line with Trust, HCPC, and RCSLT guidelines.
• Take responsibility for a defined service area, working independently with clinical oversight as per Trust objectives.
Support and Leadership
• Offer support, specialist advice, and training to less experienced staff and students.
• Serve as a departmental and Trust resource, offering expert information and guidance on relevant conditions.
Service Development and Flexibility
• Contribute to the collection of business data to inform service development and priorities.
• Work flexibly to meet departmental needs, supporting inpatient, outpatient, and community services, including out-of-hours and off-site work as required.
Professional Development and Research
• Participate in supervision, education, and training to support professional development for yourself and others.
• Initiate evidence-based audits and projects to enhance clinical practice and user involvement, implementing local service improvements where needed.
