The Cardiac Catheterization & Electrophysiology (Cath Lab/EP) Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible and accountable for individual nursing practice and determines the appropriate delegation of tasks consistent with the nurse's obligation to provide optimal care. The Cath Lab/EP RN provides comprehensive nursing care; circulates, assists, and operates equipment for the care of the Veteran in the Cath Lab suite. This RN assists in various cardiology interventional procedures. The RN must have a working knowledge of major cardiac diagnoses, medications used in the Cath Lab, medications used during emergency situation, knowledge of sterile techniques, and assist wherever needed. The RN demonstrates proficiency in caring for venous and arterial sheaths and initiating peripheral IV sites is required. The Cath Lab RN requires competency in EKG recognition, clinical competence in hemodynamic monitoring, data interpretation, and various cardiac invasive and non-invasive procedures. The RN must demonstrate nursing skills to manage and assist with emergency or life-threatening situations (airway management and resuscitation efforts). The primary purpose of the Peritoneal/Hemodialysis Nurse RN position is to demonstrate leadership in delivering and improving holistic care through collaboration strategies with others to provide comprehensive nursing care to patients assigned. The Surgical Specialty clinics require specialized nursing care and evaluation depending on services provided. The RN is responsible for the surgical and non-surgical patient care while utilizing all aspects of the nursing process and works in collaboration with the care coordinators, providers, residents, surgical technicians, and nurse manager. The RN systematically assess the health status of individuals and documents related health data in accordance with institutional policy providing pre, intra, and post procedure care. Additionally, the RN provides education to patients, families, significant others, and/or caregivers. This position is located at the Green Bay Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) ; and is organizationally aligned to the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center, Milwaukee, WI. The incumbent shall independently provide direct patient care services in ophthalmic dispensing involving education, selection, verification, adjustment and repair of ophthalmic lenses and eyewear. The incumbent adheres to all Joint Commission and hospital regulations, policies, and procedures.

This position independently provides direct patient care services related to patient education, selection, ordering, verification, troubleshooting, adjustment and repair of ophthalmic lenses and eyewear. When ordering eyeglasses, this employee will educate the patient on the lens materials, lens designs, frames, tints and coatings that have been prescribed and will assist patient in the selection and ordering of proper fitting standard eyewear frames with understanding of frame selection to include the following: size, materials, relationship between frames, lenses and face.Major Duties include but are not limited to:

• Takes measurements of interpupillary distances, optical centers, and multifocal or progressive addition lens segment heights will be accurately obtained and documented.
• Adjust eyeglasses for comfortable fit and proper alignment of optical centers and segment heights for optimal visual performance and will instruct/educate patients on how to wear and care for eyeglasses. The incumbent will have the skills to repair broken or defective eyeglasses.

This position is located at the Milo C Huempfner VA Medical Center, Green Bay. The Medical Supply Technician (Sterile Processing) provides sterilization, preparation, supply items and reusable medical equipment decontamination and distribution support for the medical center.

Duties:
-Receives contaminated critical and semi-critical Reusable Medical Equipment (RME) in the decontamination area and may receive noncritical equipment in the decontamination area as well.
-Disassembles the RME and determines the correct cleaning method, such as but not limited to ultrasonic cleaners, mechanical washers, cart washers and chemical cleaning/decontamination agents, as determined by manufacturer instructions.
-Inspects, assembles, and determines the correct method and packaging for sterilization such as but not limited to steam, Sterrad, Steris, and high level disinfecting scope reprocessors.
-Performs and documents daily operational checks and records for all sterilization equipment.
