- We are looking for a subject matter expert with a passion for work in the EDI space. In the role, the successful applicant would have the opportunity to work directly with the Health, Wellbeing and Inclusion Manager as well as the EDI and Sustainability Director and they will work alongside two other EDI practitioners. The successful candidate will support and contribute to the creation and delivery of our EDI strategy and action plan. They will respond to organisational needs with regards to EDI and support with large-scale projects including the NHS Equality Delivery System, WRES & WDES, SOMIS, and more. In addition, we require some experience of supporting colleagues and their managers in assessing needs and making recommendations for reasonable adjustments.
- Previous EDI experience is essential either within a specialist role or as a champion. Most importantly we require an individual who has a passion for and a commitment to the principles of EDI. As a facilitator of change, the ability build strong working relationships is critical as is a high level of enthusiasm and motivation. The job holder will must have the courage to speak truthfully and challenge appropriately while remaining empathic and sensitive.
Skills and Experience:
Essential:
- Previous experience in an EDI post or champion role
- Good working knowledge of EDI legislation
- Genuine passion for, interest in, commitment to, and knowledge of the principles of EDI
- An awareness of and commitment to supporting and facilitating diversity and inclusion
- Experience of working with reasonable adjustment/access to work programmes
- Willingness to travel, which may include overnight stays on occasion, as and when required
Desirable:
- EDI qualification
- Project management qualification
- Experience in working in/with Occupational Health
