About the Role:
We are The Recruitment Agency, collaborating with a globally recognised brand, to recruit a dedicated Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager for their manufacturing site in Stonehouse. This role is pivotal in fostering a safe working environment for all partners, customers, visitors, and outside contractors.
The EHS Manager will spearhead the implementation of successful environmental and safety programs, ensuring compliance with local regulations and fostering a "safety comes first" culture. You will collaborate with plant leadership to lead the safety and environmental programs, overseeing all related training and ensuring the continuous improvement of safety and environmental practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compliance: Drive improvements in safety and environmental compliance, leading direct reports, leaders, and partners.
- Written Programs: Develop, maintain, and enhance Environmental, Health, and Safety written programs.
- Training: Oversee and administer Safety and Environmental training for all staff, ensuring proper documentation and effectiveness.
- Inspections: Lead during regulatory agency inspections, understanding Safety and Environmental SOPs.
- Incident Inspections: Collaborate to identify root causes of incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Behavior Based Safety: Conduct safety observation training and validate continuous improvement in observations.
- Budget Management: Accountable for managing the plant safety budget.
- Worker's Compensation: Collaborate to drive worker's comp cases to resolution.
- Projects: Participate in various initiatives or projects as needed.
Key Ingredients:
- Education: Bachelor's degree preferred, or relevant certification/license in Occupational Safety, Health, or Environmental fields.
- Experience: 6+ years in Occupational Safety, Health, Environmental Safety in a manufacturing environment.
- Skills:
- Creation and implementation of safety programs.
- Conducting plant audits and generating reports.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Resilient and results-oriented with a creative problem-solving approach.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental permitting, regulations, and requirements for industrial applications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHS software platforms.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Collaborative mindset with proven ability to drive team decisions and results.
- Self-starter with the ability to make decisions and effect change with guidance.
- Availability to travel up to 10% annually.
