We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and experienced full-time Senior Mental Health Act Administrator to support in the provision of an effective administration service within our busy Mental Health Act Team.

The Mental Health Act Administration team deliver both an efficient and effective service, ensuring that the Trust is fully compliant with the relevant aspects of the MHA 1983 and the Code of Practice 2015. The successful candidate will work as part of a motivated team supervising the Mental Health Act Administrators and ensuring the smooth running of the MHA administration office.

The role will involve, amongst other duties; corresponding with patients and their relatives, ensuring that accurate records are maintained, collating data and support reporting thus enabling the data to be used to its maximum potential. We are seekingan experienced, enthusiastic, and self-motivated pharmacist to join our friendly pharmacy team. This post, based in the Medicines Information (MI) department, would particularly suit a pharmacist withpreviousmental health experiencewho is looking toconsolidatetheir skills. You willbe responsible fordelivering high quality expert answers tooftencomplex queries, that meet national quality standards and guide our psychiatrists’ treatment decisions in patient care.





The post holder will support the Lead Medicines Information Pharmacist to manage, develop and deliver the Medicines Information Service for Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

• Expert Medicines Advice:Providespecialist medicines advice to healthcare professionals at all levels, including consultant psychiatrists, and to patients and carers.

• Proactive information provision: Contribute to the writing and dissemination of Medicines Information Bulletins, memos, prescribing guidelines, and other written information to promote quality and cost-effective prescribing in the Trust.

• Supervision and Training: Supervise and train junior pharmacists and pre-registration pharmacists and technicians rotating through the Medicines Information service, contributing to their professional development.





There may also be the opportunity to deliver a comprehensive clinical pharmacy service to a designated ward, developingexpertisein a clinical sub-specialty.


To be considered for this role, you must: 

• have experience in mental health pharmacy

• have a hospital pharmacist background, with a strong patient focus

• have good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide clear, concise, and expert advice.

The Adult Community team are looking for fulltimedevelopingband 5/6s towork in Berkshire. (BHFT )Your base will bedeterminedby service need and can be flexible though occasionally need you to work at other sites or attend meetings within the locality – both East and WestBerkshire.


We are looking for someone who is NQT or with experience and motivation and a desire to be part of a small but enthusiasticadultteam.


As aDevelopingBand 5you will be supported to make the transition from student to autonomous practitioner with guidance from senior staff.Once you havecompleted thenecessary competenciesyou will then progress onto aBand 6level practitioner.


For newly qualified staff, you will work your way through our Preceptorship programme over the first year of employment which will help you make this transition andconsolidateall the skills and knowledge gained throughout your training. Following this we will support you to ensure you develop the necessary skills to move into a band 6 role within the team.


It is a completely adult caseload and fully supported by experienced SLT’s band 6s and the band 7s Clinical specialists
