We are a dynamic community mental health service for older people and would like you to join us. We are looking to recruit a Practitioner Psychologist or CBT Therapist in Peterborough. Excellent training opportunities are available along with access to specialist supervision in CAT and Cognitive Assessments.

The Stepped Care Therapy Team links in with the integrated physical and mental health Neighbourhood Teams, the Memory Assessment Service, and Social Care Team. The breadth of work is ideal for a newly qualified Clinical or Counselling Psychologist, or an experienced CBT therapist.

As a Clinical Psychologist/CBT Therapist, you will play a pivotal role in our Community Mental Health Team, focusing on older people's mental health needs. Your expertise will guide our team in promoting positive mental health outcomes for older adults and their families.

The candidate’s role would include the provision of assessment, formulation and evidence-based intervention including, where appropriate, specialist neuropsychological assessment. The role would involve multidisciplinary working with both mental health and physical health staff.

We also have a great CPD programme within the service and across the wider mental health service. Duties include: Receiving patients and consulting with members of the practice team Be able to cover all reception positions as necessary Process digital platform submissions Keeping the reception area, notice-boards and leaflet dispensers tidy and free from obstructions and clutter Working knowledge of the telephone system and all IT systems Process appointment requests from patients for on the day and future appointments by telephone and in person Deal with visit requests Registration of new patients computer data entry and medical records Process patients change of address computer data and medical records Process repeat prescription requests in accordance with practice guidelines Care Coordinator Tasks A Care Co-ordinator (CC) may be required to deal with patients and, if appropriate, their carer, before or after the patients consultation with a clinician or other healthcare professional. To also include the following tasks covering the reception duties, document scanning, dealing with tasks and queries from clinicians as well as other reception activities that help to facilitate care between the patients and the clinicians. This also includes liaising with Care / Nursing homes and other health and care providers when and where necessary. Working closely with the patient and their clinician or other healthcare professional, the care co-ordinator co-ordinates patients healthcare and directs them to the appropriate service to ensure that they get the most suitable care from whatever health or social care provider is appropriate. To help people to manage their needs by answering their queries and supporting them in making appointments To provide coordination and navigation of patients, and where appropriate their carers, across health and social care services, where appropriate working hand in hand with social prescribing link workers (SPLW) To undertake all mandatory training and induction programmes To develop in the role through participation in training and service redesign activities, including monthly clinical governance training N.B It is recognised that additional training will be required for some of the tasks listed. To be highly proficient in the assessment, identification, treatment and management of the highly specialist health and communication needs of children and young people in the youth justice system This may include assessment of complex conditions and presentations such as developmental trauma, neurodiversity as well as behaviour which challenges.2. To independently prioritise maintain and manage a caseload of young people who have speech, and language communication difficulties, within the Peterborough Youth Justice Service3. To undertake a range of assessments, both standardised and non-standardised, taking account of medical, social and educational factors, which combined with highly specialist theoretical knowledge will lead to differential diagnosis.4. To plan, deliver and evaluate intervention programmes following professional guidelines and agreed service standards.5.
