The Columbia VA Health Care System is currently recruiting for the position of a Rotational Pharmacy Technician. Pharmacy Technicians at this grade level can work autonomously, using independent judgement to perform a full range of duties. The technician will assist in both outpatient and inpatient Pharmacy areas. Inpatient functions include packaging unit dose medications utilizing unit dose packaging machine, replenishing stock in automated dispensing machines, conducting routine ward inspections, preparing intravenous admixtures, and delivering medications to inpatient wards and outpatient clinics. Accomplishes all intra-operative procedures within standard infection control protocols. Assists in routine general dental procedures using concepts of four-handed dentistry. Assists in specialized dental procedures, such as oral surgery, endodontics, periodontics, prosthodontics, implant placement and restoration. Maintains dental equipment per manufacturer instructions and dental service standards.

Dental Imaging
Captures both standard and specialty dental imaging (ie. Cone beam) in digital format. Modifies settings to achieve the images as requested by provider. Images are characterized by diagnostic quality and accurately oriented. Dental imaging safety techniques are utilized, and retakes are minimized. Imaging requests are accomplished with the desired time frame.
Infection Control and Equipment Sterilization

Demonstrates proper infection control procedures in setting up and cleaning operatories. Disinfects all dental equipment per manufacturer instructions. Properly prepares instruments for transfer to SPS for sterilization. Follows all Standard Operating Procedures and Policy on Reusable Medical Equipment. Clerical Functions

The Memory Disorder physician will be part of an interdisciplinary team of health care providers, caring for Veterans with dementia. The physician will be assigned to the Neurology Service and will see patients at the North Charleston and Charleston Neurology outpatient clinic. This involves outpatient neurologic consultations, review of screening results completed by the Neuropsychologists and development of treatment plans and future care for veterans. The Should the Memory Disorder physician will collaborate with other cognitive specialists from neurology, geriatrics, geriatric psychiatry, and social work services in the interdisciplinary management of dementia patients. Anti-amyloid infusion therapy and Amyloid Pet Scans are available to the physician at this facility. Suitable candidates will be offered up to 50% of unassigned clinical time for research purposes. This research will be conducted under the umbrella of the state-of-the-art VA Brain Health Center and National Coordinating Center for Research on Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias. Should the Memory Disorders physician have a need to refer patients to a subspecialist, these patients can be sent to the Charleston VA neurology clinic for consultations in the fields of epilepsy, headaches, movement disorders, neuromuscular medicine and , MS, and dementia. Charleston VA Neurology Service also has EEG/EMG testing, neurology inpatient service and an epilepsy monitoring unit and is partnering with the academic affiliate, Medical University of South Carolina, on educating medical students, residents and fellows. available. • Directs and administers the unit including maintenance of accreditation for all radiology services such as general radiologic imaging, CT scanning, ultrasound, mammography, and other services.
• Promotes Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Plans and maintains progressive involvement ensuring optimal radiological services. Develops operating policies and procedures.
• Utilizes available guidelines with Indian Health Services (IHS) Radiology policies, the Service Unit and Navajo Area Indian Health Services (NAIHS) Operational goals and objectives. Accreditation requirements, policy and procedures manuals, and the Civil service regulations.
• Serves as the focal point within the work unit for all property and supply management activities.
• Serves as the primary requesting official for work orders involving the maintenance, repair and/or installation of equipment for requisitions involving non-medical equipment and supplies.
• Implements the provisions of regulatory EEO guidelines and practices, and utilizes all resources available in carrying out the provisions and objectives of the federal EEO program.
• Performs assignments that require assisting the Radiologist or other physicians by operating complex highly sophisticated x-ray and auxiliary equipment to produce specialized studies.
• Oversees and manages contracts and other financial transactions on behalf of the work unit.
• Performs technical and professional duties as a radiology imaging technician consistent with current certification and experience (CT scanning, ultrasound, mammography, general radiology).
