Major duties include, but are not limited to:

• Provide ongoing analysis and reconciliation of large amounts of data, various reports, and responses to VISN and VACO requests, requiring workflow management of a large volume of complex tasks, collaboration with subject matter experts on issue regarding clinical, operation and policy issues.
• Apply advanced analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues or studies concerning administrative support functions across the healthcare system for use by the Medical Center Director, Associate Director, Chief of Staff and VISN Director.
• Conduct studies of health care system programs and operations, and makes recommendations for improvements to reduce cost and increase efficiency and effectiveness without compromising customer service.
• Identify problems or potential problems within the facility that impact the ability to provide good customer service and/or quality care, and makes recommendations for corrective actions.
• Collaborate with all clinical and administrative services and Service Chiefs within the Medical Center providing recommended solutions to meet various VISN and VA Central Office requirements.
• Recommend improvements in program operations and promote efficiency and cost savings.
• Provide executive management with reports, evaluated information, budgetary proposals and similar products necessary for effective direction of program operations.
• Participate in discussions, meetings, and conference calls with all levels of management officials and employees to share information.
• Responsible for leading and/or actively participating in projects requested by top management.
• Coordinate all aspects of each special project to ensure that objectives are achieved.

The Health System Specialist duties include, but are not limited to:

• Coordinate the personnel management program for Services and Programs under the direction of the Chief of Staff.
• Advise high level officials on all aspects of personnel management activities.
• Make recommendations relating to various policy issues and provides advice to the Chief of Staff and to physician managers on personnel management matters and problems.
• Maintain continuous liaison with the Medical Center's human resources office in areas of personnel recruiting, promotion, training, equal opportunity employment, disciplinary action, performance evaluation, etc.
• Prepare appropriate justification for special pay agreements for medical and surgical sub specialty physicians.
• Assist the managers and supervisors and keeps them informed of any potential problem areas requiring their attention.
• Make every effort to solve problem situations before they become significant problems.
• Prepare a variety of special analyses and reports on human resources issues.
• Develop systems and methods for tracking, managing, and reporting.

The Nursing Assistant duties include but are not limited to:

• Provides patients personal hygiene by assisting with bathing/showering, shampooing, shaving, dressing and toileting.
• Completes vital signs as ordered, and reports findings outside of normal limits to RN, LPN, or provider and, accurately documents all findings in EHR.
• Documents all nursing care in electronic health record (EHR), completes ADL templates in the Community Living Center, and on all units, completes forms, reports, and records.
• Safely transports patients in gurneys, wheelchairs or transport chairs and reports all observations of the patient's condition to RN, LPN, or provider. Uses safe patient handling and mobility equipment, to prevent patient or staff injury.
• Serves and protects the medical center by adhering to professional standards, maintaining knowledge on all hospital policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and accrediting bodies standards.

• The Nurse Manager (NM) is the designated first-line supervisory authority and is responsible and accountable for the 24/7 operation of their assigned units and provides coverage for other NMs as needed.
• Responsible and accountable for the direction and supervision of specific orientation, training, development of staff, and evaluation of individual staff performance.
• Function as a role model, educator, practitioner, and supervisor providing leadership to the team.
• Enhance care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team to remove barriers and implement new evidence-based cutting-edge programs/processes.

The Nursing Assistant duties include but are not limited to:

• Transporting patients to locations for treatment.
• Ensuring the transportation equipment is in proper working condition.
• Observing patients during transportation for signs of distress.
• Transporting specimens, records, medication, patient support equipment to and from patient care areas.
• Providing emotional support to patients and their families.
• Reporting defective equipment to the charge nurse or other designee.
• Recognizing emergency situations and taking appropriate and immediate action.
• Maintains a safe environment for the patient at all times.
• Maintains constant observation of the patient at all times.
• Assist with location and transport of PACU equipment.
• Stocks sterile and non-sterile supplies, checks for out-dates, rotates stock .
• Holds responsibility for the cleaning of unit assigned RME.
• Follows Infection Control guidelines and PPE requirements.
