Job purpose

Be supporting role in providing expert nutrition guidance, conducting product training, health talks, and nutritional training programs for our client to improve their knowledge of the company products.   

Duties and responsibilities

Nutritional product training:

• Support assistant manager Nutritionist or Marketing Manager to conduct product training for internal staff (e.g. sales and marketing team and customer service).
• Conduct and implement product training and workshops for organization members and help leaders meet specified performance expectations. Ensure the team is well equipped with product knowledge.
• Assist head of department to develop E-learning modules, product training manuals, digital training materials (e.g. educational cards/ posters, video clips and etc.)

Consumer nutrition education & consultation:

• Provide nutritional consultation and product recommendations to customers according to their health condition and requirements. Offer advice on how to stay healthy and provide support on their progress.

As Executive Director of the Office of Strategic Planning and Analysis, the incumbent has responsibility for developing and coordinating VHA's national planning guidance, directing VHA's strategic planning efforts, and providing guidance and technical expertise to key VHA officials on matters relating to VA-wide health care facility infrastructure policy and strategies and for capital asset management within VHA. This includes the following duties and responsibilities:

- Leads, manages, directs the formulation and analysis of health care related policy and planning issues; develops, analyzes, implements, and coordinates system-wide planning goals, requirements, and procedures including evaluative tools and planning models to support the Department and VHA operations, program development and policy issues.

- Leads and manages the assessment of key trends in health care and translating them as appropriate into strategic guidance for VHA. Manages strategic issues for policy formulation and resolution by the organization.

-Prepares directives, regulations and other policy documents based on decisions by the National Leadership Council Strategic Directions Committee and the Under Secretary for Health (USH). Assesses, develops, and implements policy and planning information resources and tools.

- Analyzes VISN planning documents to identify policy issues that need further development and resolution. Analyzes national documents such as Congressional bills, OMB guidance, and external reviews to identify policy issues that impact on VISN planning. Leads, directs, coordinates and prepares national analyses and reports related to health care planning.

- Operates with delegated broad authority and responsibility for the administrative coordination, analysis, and review of the studies associated with health care delivery and capital asset planning throughout VHA. Provides expert advice to the ADUSH for Policy and Planning, Principal Deputy Under Secretary for Health (PDUSH), Deputy Under Secretary for Health for Operations and Management and USH in the development and implementation of the strategic plans associated with capital asset planning.

- Conducts program evaluations. Develops information and processes for complying with legislative and congressional requirements for reports and information on VHA's strategic capital asset program. Leads and/or plans research, develops and provides information and tools to be used by VHA headquarters and field managers in support of strategic planning and strategic capital asset program planning.

- Provides policy direction, expert advice and guidance to VHA managers on aligning and integrating capital

This position is responsible for the direction of a highly complex consolidated Radiology program that includes General Radiography, Fluoroscopy, Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Nuclear Medicine, Molecular Imaging, Positron Emission Tomography, General Ultrasound, Vascular Ultrasound, and Interventional Radiology programs. The incumbent performs duties related to the receipt, intake, and indexing of health and administrative information and supervises all Advanced Medical Support Assistants (AMSA) in the service.

The Supervisory Medical Support Assistant (SMSA) is responsible for ensuring the management of accurate and timely patient care coordination in all divisions and modalities of Radiology, coordinating all clinic administrative support activities in conjunction with the Administrative Officer (AO), Chief of Radiology, and other staff to provide adequate administrative staff coverage to assure quality patient care coordination. Will serve as an active member of the Radiology supervisory team, keeping the AO informed on all matters requiring their attention and/or action. Participates in the formulation of plans and determination of goals with the service and conducts Continuous Quality Improvement reviews in program areas. The incumbent is delegated authority necessary to accomplish assigned programs, performing the full range of supervisory duties and responsibilities to effectively utilize the manpower and resources allocated to the Radiology. This includes setting team goals and technically directing the work of
subordinates. It requires planning, assigning, reviewing, and accepting/rejecting work done by subordinates. The incumbent will make work assignments, set or negotiate deadlines, and designate completion dates. The incumbent makes final decisions on selections, evaluates performance, and takes disciplinary action when necessary. The incumbent coordinates leave, approving time as appropriate and arranging cross coverage in order to provide adequate coverage for assigned areas and other related activities of personnel assigned to Radiology. The incumbent instructs employees in assigned tasks and job techniques, conducts formal and informal on-the-job training, and answers questions on procedures,
policies, and directives. The Incumbent is responsible for the management and reporting of workload data related to all Radiology sections. Responsible for creating and updating scheduling notes for all clinics. Works with subordinates to complete appointment processing in a timely manner. It also involves providing education (and re-education) to referring clinicians on how to timely/completely/accurately complete radiology orders. The incumbent evaluates and determines results, plans and institutes administrative methods and procedures and establishes or recommends program objectives. Acts as a representative of the AO, with full responsibility to make decisions assuring maximum utilization of
personnel. Develops and administers a formal continuous improvement plan or method for reviewing and appraising the effectiveness of all Radiology activities. Analyzes and reports information gathered as a basis in making improvements in efficiency to the veteran. Plans training programs for Medical Support Assistants, develops and maintains an efficient work force of employees which is an integral part of the clinic operation. Provides technical and clerical assistance to the professional staff on all administrative matters and activities. The purpose of the work is to develop, manage, coordinate, improve and oversee needed administrative services for the various Radiology modalities. Work contributes to the improvement
of patient care delivery with the goal of providing a seamless continuum of care. Assessment of productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency of program operations or to analyze and resolve problems are necessary components of the work performed in order to be able to provide recommendations to resolve problems in administration of the programs. Work also includes developing related procedures and
guidelines to supplement the established administrative regulations and administrative documents.

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• Performing observation-based screening, collecting patient information in collaboration with licensed personnel. This may involve obtaining patient health/medication history, and information about health-related or high- ill complete approved templates and tools.
• Participates in the admission of patients by obtaining information, orienting patients to the unit and treatment team, obtaining vital signs and weight and checking patients and their belongings for hazardous items.

• Wound care such as bandaging, applications of dressings and wound measurements.
• Specimen collections and Preparation such as collecting and labeling venous blood and samples, urine, stool, wound and mucous specimens.
• Patient transport such as transporting patients with cardiac monitor or assisting licensed staff with patients on cardiac monitoring, chest tube, or other complex medical support devices to and from diagnostic tests or between hospital units.
• Setting up equipment and passing instruments in the event of defibrillation, cardioversions, 2 insertion of chest drainage tubes, insertion of thoracostomy tubes, lumbar puncture, electroconvulsive therapy, rapid sequence intubation, or initiation of mechanical ventilation to restore normal physiological function or prevent deterioration of condition.
• Applies non-sterile hot/cold compresses, packs, and soaks and utilizes equipment that provides heating or cooling as directed by provider.
• Assists in behavioral/psychiatric situations within the acute care setting. This can include assisting licensed personnel with crisis intervention, assisting with observation and documentation of aggressive or suicidal psychiatric patients by providing one-tone observations and applying Prevention and Management of Disruptive Behavior (PMDB) techniques.
• Medication administration will comply with national directives and local policies utilizing Bar Code Medication Administration (BCMA) as required and whenever applicable. Administration methods may include intramuscular, oral, topical, eye drops, ear drops, intranasal, intraosseous, rectal suppositories, normal saline IV push, local anesthetics, nebulized medications, subcutaneous, and intradermal.
• Demonstrates acceptable behavior as a role model for patient behavior. Encourages patient and family to actively participate in the individualized treatment plan. Encourages positive patient-family relationships. Teaches patients and family members the necessity of continuing proper health care.
• Provides general clerical administrative support coordination work for the unit. Maintains patient records/charts.
