You must be able to provide clinical leadership and motivation to develop the existing staff whilst maintaining high professional standards, demonstrating commitment to staff development and patient care. Must have knowledge and experience within adult mental health.

You will need to possess excellent interpersonal skills, have leadership and staff development skills. A strong commitment to your ongoing professional education and development is essential.

The successful post holder will be expected be able to rotate across the specialty areas and be able to work shifts covering 24 hours, seven days a week.

Lytham St Annes/Clifton Dialysis Unit operates 24 haemodialysis stations, serving up to 112 patients, in partnership with Royal Preston Hospitals NHS Trust using only the latest equipment. Nursing is planned at a ratio of 1:4 patients, and you will be supported by HCA’s on each shift.

This is a full time role of 37.5 hours a week. Current days are working various shifts between 6.30am to 11.00pm Monday/Wednesday/Friday and 6.30am to 6.00pm Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday.

Core responsibilities:To provide a speech and language therapy services to children as a member of the Education team: Provide speech, language and communication assessments and intervention in consultation with the education team and other SLTsand SLTAs Keep accurate records and provide written reports Set targets for therapy and monitor progress Provide intervention on an individual or group basis as required Develop and demonstrate SLT programmes for pupils Hold responsibility for own caseload and be responsible for a defined area of the service, working without direct supervision Work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team, contributing to the planning, development and delivery of an effective and efficient service Work as a key member of the team which involves participation in: Clinical supervision within the team via regular meetings, supervision, mentoring and appraisals Continuing professional development and implementing service improvements and evidence-based practice SLT student placements Induction, supervision and support of junior SLTs, SLTAs and volunteers Development of SLT services and training The evaluation and monitoring of services to demonstrate impact and quality of service
