About the role
Join our team as a Director of Clinical Operations on a fulltime Monday-Friday, ongoing position, to work at based from Monash Children's Hospital, supporting across multiple sites of Monash Health. Reporting to the Program General Manager, and as a key member of the Program Leadership team, the Director Clinical Operations (DCO) will be accountable for the clinical, professional and financial performance of the Newborn Services, ensuring the consistent delivery of high quality, effective and efficient patient care.
Key responsibilities for each of the roles focuses on delivering outcomes across four core areas:

People
Operational performance
Financial performance
With operational support from Nurse/Midwifery Managers and clinical teams, the DCO will actively foster an environment of evidence based practice and will play a lead role in promoting, building and embedding a culture of continuous improvement. The position has a requirement to travel across our Monash Health sites as you support the Services at Clayton, Dandenong, Casey hospital and Sandringham Hospital.
About You:
Your experience in senior nursing/midwifery management roles has enabled you to build a track record of success. Your achievements include professional leadership of a significant clinical workforce within a large, complex healthcare organisation.
To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:
knowledge of and experience in implementing governance frameworks
experience leading clinical areas through accreditation processes
an understanding of healthcare financial systems and budgets, including revenue and cost drivers
understanding of relevant legislative, statutory and industrial frameworks
clear thinking and problem solving capability, and proven ability to identify and implement creative solutions to complex problems
strong project management and data analysis skills
strategic thinking capability combined with a “can do” approach
You are an excellent communicator, with highly developed written, verbal and interpersonal skills, enabling you to engage effectively across a wide range of stakeholders. Each DCO role requires significant relevant nursing or midwifery experience. You are likely to hold postgraduate qualifications in a relevant chosen field, or you are working towards attaining them.
