• Providing a full range of psychodiagnostic services including psychological evaluations and diagnoses of mental disorders for patients presenting with complex mental and medical problems in Acute Care Mental Health. • Completing Suicide Risk Identification to include CSREs, Safety Plans, and consultation with Suicide Prevention Team as needed.

• Program management responsibilities for the Psychology Training Programs. The programs consist of an APA (American Psychological Association) accredited pre-doctoral internship program with four interns and the training of pre-doctoral graduate students completing externship.
• Conducting oversight of administrative and programmatic resources of the Psychology Training Program are highly specialized and complex, offering 10 fully developed internship rotations. The trainees and clinical supervisors that participate in the programs significantly impact the delivery of health care service to Veterans in a wide range of settings across a large healthcare system.

The Pulmonary, Sleep, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine Section at VA Boston Healthcare System seeks a board-certified full time sleep specialist to serve as a director the VA Boston sleep medicine program.

The successful candidate will join a staff of two physicians and one physician assistant sleep specialists providing care for a diverse veteran population at three Boston area VA Boston divisions. The program includes a 4-bed Sleep Laboratory, active Home Sleep Apnea Testing Program, busy outpatient clinics, with equipment services provided by a talented staff of RPSGTs.

The practice mix can include exclusively Sleep Medicine, a combination of Sleep and Pulmonary Medicine, and research depending on the candidate's interests. There is an active basic science sleep research program at VA Boston that includes 7 investigators with funding from the VA and NIH. Their programs at the VA offer excellent opportunity for clinician researchers to establish collaborative investigations at the preclinical level in animal models or establish their own program. The System comprises three major campuses and five community-based outpatient clinics. The WPB VA Medical Center has a designated role in the Geriatrics and Extended Care Service that serves as the Attending Physician and Medical Director of the Community Living Center (CLC). Our largest, 19-ward site is in Springfield Village, created following our £150m investment into two new world class mental health facilities.

Tolworth Hospital, Surbiton

To create the very best environment to care for our patients, this site’s layout will be transformed in 2026 to add a number of wards to the existing three.

In addition to the main duties outline for the role, some of the key responsibilities include:
• Ensure the Board and key stakeholders are notified of any new policy, legislative, regulatory and governance developments that might impact on the Trust’s activities.
• Providing ‘wise counsel’ and a confidential sound board to the Chief Executive, Chair, and individual Board members on all aspects of Board business including issues of concern.
• Guiding the Board in the responsible and effective conduct of its role, providing, where appropriate, a discreet, independent, and challenging voice in relation to Board deliberations and decision-making.
• Overall responsibility for the Trust’s corporate governance framework, ensuring there are sound procedures in place both within the Trust, in our working with the SLP and ICS.
• Ensure that the Trust’s corporate affairs are undertaken to the highest standards of probity and according to statutory and legislative requirements by advising the Chief Executive, Chair and Board members on all corporate governance issues.
• Provide specialist advice to the Board around all aspects of the Trust’s governance agenda to ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory frameworks and audit frameworks.
• Lead on the design, development and implementation of the Board Assurance Framework ensuring it is regularly reviewed and updated by Executive Directors so that it adds value and provides assurance to the Board.
• Lead on the appointment of the Chair, Vice Chair, SID, non-executive directors, CEO, and executive directors are in accordance with best practice.
• Ensure full secretarial support, advice and follow up action is provided for the Board (including its designated formal committees), ensuring that they run efficiently, effectively and adopt best practice with a constructive relationship between them and the under-pinning governance structure.

The post holder will: Provide autonomous expert advice to support national and regional plans Deputise for the Deputy CNO Work alongside the others to oversee all mental health policy and quality improvement work within NHSE. Be responsible for the strategic nursing leadership for mental health within the Nursing Directorate on behalf of NHSE, in all healthcare settings, including acute, community and specialist mental health trusts. They will also ensure that NHSE provides system support for providers to deliver high quality, safe and sustainable mental health services now and in the future. Ensure excellent engagement with national, regional and local clinical and quality improvement stakeholders to ensure improvements to mental health care are at the centre of service provision. Work closely with the patient safety team to support improvement in outcomes and safety across mental health services.
