Duties include but are not limited to the following:

• Responsible for providing leadership, direction, coordination, clinical guidance, organization, planning, and implementation of pharmaceutical procurement throughout all sites of care for the Columbus Veterans Affairs Ambulatory Care Center and affiliated CBOCs.
• Works independently under the Chief of Pharmacy Service and keeps them apprised of trends/problems associated with their assigned areas.
• Assume responsibility for the administration and operations of procurement for the Columbus Veterans Affairs Ambulatory Care Center's clinical pharmacy guidance to procurement and serving as the All-Hazards Emergency Cache (AHEC) Pharmacy Manager.
• Supervises and oversees the procurement technicians, provides training, education, and clinical guidance to procurement technicians, and works closely with clinical subject matter experts.
• Coordinate's workflow and communicates effectively with other sections and supervisors within and outside of pharmacy service with issues related to procurement.

Major duties include but not limited to:

• The NM functions as a clinical expert and is responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing or supervising direct patient care.

The Account Manager manages, maintains and expands client accounts under 100 lives to develop, enhance and solidify relationships. This is achieved by providing exceptional customer service and professional insurance services with the coordination of Producers, Service Team members and other departments. 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintains consistent and continuous communication with assigned clients to provide needed information, creative solutions, and resolution of issues for clients

• Manages clients’ day to day service needs by working with team members to ensure requests are met

• Understands carriers’ underwriting processes  and procedures

• Requests renewal information, directs Account Assistant to market account, and structures clients’ proposals

• Prepares comparisons for recommended coverage, facilitates opportunities for account rounding and negotiates renewal terms

• Invoices fee-based accounts

• Pursue opportunities to round out existing client programs with additional and/or increased lines of coverage

• Works directly with Producers Carrier Representative, Clients, Service Team, and other departments to maintain current information in the agency management system

• Initiates periodic visits to clients to ensure high levels of client satisfaction and to provide additional coverage options and/or account rounding opportunities (per Department guidelines)

• Schedules and conducts Employee Meetings to present coverage(s)

• When appropriate, requests disruption report

• Ensures accuracy, proper handling, and appropriate distribution of policies (SBC, etc.),  and other requests from clients

• Assists in locating and implementing appropriate wellness program vendors

• Participates and assists with employee’s claims through processing or forwarding to Claims Manager

• Participates in continuing education to maintain Health and Life license

• Stays current on regulations, Health Care Reform, and general insurance knowledge. Assists in communicating this information to clients

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office 2010 (Outlook, Word and Excel)

• Excellent communication skills, including listening, speaking and writing

• Flexibility and creativity for developing innovative and customized business solutions

• Exceptional relationship development skills and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills

• Computer literacy for correspondence, data entry, e-mail, Internet, Carrier websites, spreadsheets and accessing data from company systems

• Must have transportation to travel between offices, to event locations and other required destinations and must maintain a valid driver’s license; colleague is expected to provide their own vehicle and will be reimbursed for mileage only

REQUIRED:

• High School Diploma or equivalent 

• 3+ years industry experience

• 3+ years of Employee Benefits Account Administrator experience or Equivalent required

• Health & Life License upon hire
   

PREFERRED:

• College Degree 

• Industry certification preferred and required for advancement
