About the unit
This Labor and Delivery Unit does approximately 750 deliveries per year greater than 34 weeks gestation. This position includes leadership over the Special Care Nursery, and Postpartum unit as well.

Scope of work
Under general direction, maintains 24-hour responsibility and accountability for providing leadership and management of a designated patient care unit which promotes quality nursing care, cost effective use of resources and professional growth for nursing staff. Promotes a Patient Family Centered Care Culture.

Qualifications
- Required Bachelor's Degree in nursing.
- Preferred Master's Degree
- Required Completion of a Nurse Executive Council approved leadership development educational program.
- 3 years of relevant experience. Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience. Required
- 1 year of relevant experience Minimum of one year of formal nursing leadership experience required for external applicants. Required
- 2 years of relevant experience Minimum of 2 years demonstrated informal leadership experience required for internal applicants, may include but are not limited to: Charge Lead Nurse, Charge Nurse responsibilities, leadership on behalf of unit/site/system at Shared Governance Council, etc. Required
- LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
- CRT-Specialty Certification - UNKNOWN Unknown 2 Yrs required
