About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and qualified registered Senior Occupational Therapist to join our team at Epsom & Ewell. We are proactive in supporting all our staff to develop, with a focus on continual practice development. This diverse role requires professional experience of assessing for major adaptations, specialised equipment and completing moving and handling risk assessments, with the aim of supporting our clients to live meaningful lives within the community, the very essence of occupational therapy.

We offer regular supervision to all our staff every month, plus we provide informal support from the wider team. The value of occupational therapists is well recognised within our team, which enables us to fully utilise our skills and strengths to achieve a critical service, focussing on what is important to the individual.

As a Senior Occupational Therapist in Epsom & Ewell Locality Team, you will conduct holistic assessments of social care needs and planning support across a dedicated caseload. Working closely with families, carers and care workers, you'll play a vital role in supporting people from diverse backgrounds, with a wide range of needs.

Shortlisting Criteria
To be considered for shortlisting for this position, your application will clearly evidence the following:

• Professional qualification in Occupational Therapy and current registration with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Experience of working within a social care, health or community focused multi-disciplinary setting
• Ability to complete person centred and proportionate OT assessments
• Familiarity with moving and handling equipment such as hoists and stand aids
• Knowledge of medical conditions and the likely impact on the individual, carer and family
• Knowledge of current legislation, including the Care Act and the Mental Capacity Act and its application to practice in a social care setting
• Substantial post-qualification professional experience would also be required and experience of providing professional supervision (support and training to further these skills will be provided).

Surrey has both urban and rural areas and locality based social care workers will be expected to have a valid driving licence to drive in the UK and access to a vehicle and be willing to travel across a wide geographical area.

About the Team The Team is a well-established and very experienced team and sit within the Children with Disabilities Resources services alongside the Children's Crisis Service and Children with Disabilities Outreach with strong links with all other Children with Disabilities Teams. About the Role This is a children's social care Occupational Therapist role. It is primarily focused, but not limited to, applying your specialist skills and knowledge to support our duty OT service. As a Senior Theatre Practitioner (ODP) at our Guildford Hospital, you're registered with the appropriate governing body and you hold the relevant qualifications and experience, including HCPC registration. As a Senior Theatre Practitioner, you will:

• Be responsible for providing skilled clinical and technical assistance as a member of the operating theatre team.

• Provide continuous competent and dedicated assistance under the direct supervision of the operating surgeon throughout the procedure.

• Promoting best practice and contributing towards quality improvements.

• Acting as an SFA within scope of practice, across a caseload of orthopaedic, general, gynaecology and urology surgery.

• Working as a Theatre Practitioner across various specialities when not acting as SFA.

• Prioritise patient safety, taking appropriate actions and encouraging colleagues to call out and report safety concerns.

• Promote a safe working environment for patients, visitors and staff (in full compliance with all policies and procedures).

• Support governance activity, ensuring full compliance with Nuffield Health's Quality governance framework and national standards, e.g. CQC/HIW/HIS Regulation, fundamentals of care, professional standards and evidence-based guidelines.

• Provide and lead care management and delivery, treating patients, families, friends and representatives with kindness, dignity, respect and compassion and support them to cope emotionally with their care, treatment or condition.

• Collaborate with other clinicians within the Hospital, building strong working relationships that enhance patient care and service delivery.

• Take charge of a theatre, co-ordinating and delivering work activities and leading junior practitioners.

As a Senior Theatre practitioner, you will have:

• Registered Practitioner with NMC or HCPC registration.

• Surgical First Assistant Qualification.

• Excellent communication skills.

Working with the team of Consultant urological surgeons at the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust and visiting consultants from other Alliance hospitals. This post will involve both Theatre lists as well as outpatient clinics alongside the urology consultants. You will also participate in the general urological workload of the department including undertake a weekly flexible cystoscopy list. Your new role
As a Senior Occupational Therapist in Surrey Heath Locality team, you will conduct holistic assessments of social care needs and planning support across a dedicated caseload. What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for shortlisting for this position, your application will clearly evidence the following:

• Professional qualification in Occupational Therapy and current registration with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
• Experience of working within a social care, health or community focused multi-disciplinary setting
• Ability to complete person centred and proportionate OT assessments
• Familiarity with moving and handling equipment such as hoists and stand aids
• Knowledge of medical conditions and the likely impact on the individual, carer and family
• Knowledge of current legislation, including the Care Act and the Mental Capacity Act and its application to practice in a social care setting.
• Substantial post-qualification professional experience would also be required and experience of providing professional supervision (support and training to further these skills will be provided).
