About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and qualified registered Senior Occupational Therapist to join our team at Epsom & Ewell. We are proactive in supporting all our staff to develop, with a focus on continual practice development. This diverse role requires professional experience of assessing for major adaptations, specialised equipment and completing moving and handling risk assessments, with the aim of supporting our clients to live meaningful lives within the community, the very essence of occupational therapy.

We offer regular supervision to all our staff every month, plus we provide informal support from the wider team. The value of occupational therapists is well recognised within our team, which enables us to fully utilise our skills and strengths to achieve a critical service, focussing on what is important to the individual.

As a Senior Occupational Therapist in Epsom & Ewell Locality Team, you will conduct holistic assessments of social care needs and planning support across a dedicated caseload. Working closely with families, carers and care workers, you'll play a vital role in supporting people from diverse backgrounds, with a wide range of needs.

Shortlisting Criteria
To be considered for shortlisting for this position, your application will clearly evidence the following:

• Professional qualification in Occupational Therapy and current registration with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Experience of working within a social care, health or community focused multi-disciplinary setting
• Ability to complete person centred and proportionate OT assessments
• Familiarity with moving and handling equipment such as hoists and stand aids
• Knowledge of medical conditions and the likely impact on the individual, carer and family
• Knowledge of current legislation, including the Care Act and the Mental Capacity Act and its application to practice in a social care setting
• Substantial post-qualification professional experience would also be required and experience of providing professional supervision (support and training to further these skills will be provided).

Surrey has both urban and rural areas and locality based social care workers will be expected to have a valid driving licence to drive in the UK and access to a vehicle and be willing to travel across a wide geographical area.

About the Team The Team is a well-established and very experienced team and sit within the Children with Disabilities Resources services alongside the Children's Crisis Service and Children with Disabilities Outreach with strong links with all other Children with Disabilities Teams. About the Role This is a children's social care Occupational Therapist role. It is primarily focused, but not limited to, applying your specialist skills and knowledge to support our duty OT service. Frimley Health Foundation Trust has an exciting vacancy for a Bank Band 6 Senior Paediatric Dietitian to join our growing and enthusiastic paediatric dietetics team at Frimley Park Hospital. We have 7.5 hours per week available with the potential for more hours.

The responsibilities within this role include the nutritional assessment and care of paediatric outpatients for a new weight management service. This role will be based at Heatherwood hospital as part of an MDT.

The paediatric dietetic work contributes towards best care approach and in turn the Frimley Health Foundation Trust strategy. This role will support this work and provide an opportunity to develop and practice skills within both inpatient and outpatient groups.

Our department is a well-established friendly team with dietitians working within 12 specialities. You would be encouraged to utilise and develop leadership skills within both the multidisciplinary team and supporting speech and language therapy colleagues on the unit and within the friendly and supportive team.

To undertake comprehensive specialist holistic assessment, diagnosis and management of acute acquired communication and swallowing impairments.

Devise SMART goals for speech and language rehabilitation, working with Speech and Language therapy assistant to deliver person centred care.

Close liaison and working with patients, families, MDT, community services and Early Supported Discharge team, representing speech and language therapy and advocating for our patients.

Provide expert clinical advice, leadership and support within the SLT team as “senior of the day”.

Providing line management and supervision to junior colleagues.

Competencies in tracheostomy/videofluoroscopy/FEES are welcomed and there may be potential opportunities to undertake competencies in some of these.
