Be responsible for the Childrens Continuing Care assessment of children and young people with Mental Health/ LD needs and Physical Health needs. In conjunction with lead provider and partner agencies e.g., Physio, OT Have strategic oversight of complex discharges from tertiary and acute centres. In conjunction with the Case Manager, build strong links with lead provider other agencies, e.g. the Childrens Centre, Education Health and Care process, social services and specialist educational schools ensuring that families receive the most appropriate and equitable service for their Initiate co-production to ensure children/families are involved in the planning and developing of their own Ensure robust processes for triaging of referrals, DST assessments and reviews as well as escalations for CCC framework implementation. To maintain accurate and up-to-date records for auditing purposes Actively involved in auditing of nurse assessors record keeping. Part-time hours are also available. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.
Your new role
Senior Theatre Practitioner Nurse

• Deliver safe quality care for patients during their pre-operative phase of care.
• To support, coordinate and actively assist in the management and organisation of care within the operating department.
• Provide quality planned care for patients during their peri-operative phase of care by ensuring all team members deliver quality patient care by providing appropriate clinical and managerial leadership.
• Lead in the delivery of patient care, during a long or specified period of time.
• Ensure that patient safety checks are carried out in accordance with the policy and that all practitioners adhere to the policy.
• Contribute to quality improvement.
• Develop and enhance the skills and knowledge of others and self.
• Promote the best evidence-based practice within your own scope of practice.
• Apply legislation, policies and procedures correctly.
• Achieve agreed objectives and demonstrating CHG behaviours at all time

What you'll need to succeed

• Registered Practitioner with NMC or HCPC registration.
• Post-registration qualification relevant to functional speciality i.e. Advanced Scrub Practitioner or Surgical First Assistant qualification [for scrub leads].
• ENB 998 and/or mentorship course.
• Approved / recognised anaesthetic course.
• ILS.
• Orthopaedic skill
• Mentorship qualification
• ILM3
• Previous experience working within an acute healthcare environment.
• Previous experiencing managing and leading a clinical team.
• Proficiency in two out of the three theatre clinical areas required Anaesthetics/Recovery/Scrub.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Clinical Duties: To assess clients referred to the service. To undertake specialist ADL assessments when required. To ensure that treatment offered is based on the best available evidence for effectiveness in the specialist area where it is applied. To develop and initiate interventions based on the integration of theoretical knowledge in order to meet unique client needs. To keep up to date clinical records in line with professional standards and local record keeping policies. To provide written and verbal reports as required at any stage in the treatment process in line with Occupational Therapy Clinical Governance Standards. Indirect Clinical Duties: To attend clinical MDT discussions at meetings or ward rounds. To participate in clinical audit, research and evidence-based practice. To undertake day-to-day clinical reflective work with the team To identify clinical service needs and initiate projects, which could be developed in order to meet challenges. To promote the roles and skills of Occupational Therapy to other professionals, students, clients and carers. To contribute constructively to multi-disciplinary team working. Profession Specific Duties: To attend professional Occupational Therapy meetings as required. To take responsibility for developing as a professional. To maintain a continuing professional development portfolio. To undertake annual appraisal. To contribute constructively to the supervision process. To provide supervision to junior staff and students. To occasionally represent the Occupational Therapy profession at service development forums. To comply with policies and procedures for annual leave, sickness and time owing. To complete daily diary sheets for statistical purposes. To supervise a minimum of one student per year.
