In this role, you’ll help the Chef to prepare and cook food for the people we support, set dining tables and keep the kitchen clean.

About the role
Our Catering Assistants make delicious and nourishing meals for people with a range of dietary requirements.

No two days will ever be the same, but your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

assisting with basic food preparation
keeping the kitchen clean and tidy including washing up, cleaning freezers and mopping floors
cleaning and sanitising all tableware
understanding people’s needs, likes and choices to help the Chef develop suitable menus
interacting with the people we support to get feedback on meals
complying with food hygiene standards
being a great team player, working as part of the wider Catering Team.
If you haven’t worked in the care sector before, we’ll help you feel right at home from the start with our induction, buddy, and ongoing training programmes.

As a Learning & Development Admin Assistant, you will be instrumental in ensuring that Barchester maintain our reputation of providing exceptional care to residents, and as an employer of choice within the sector. Hybrid role with remote working with fortnightly visits to Head Office in Finsbury Square in London.

You will deal with general enquiries from staff regarding internal training programs, external courses; support remote L&D team members and other support teams with scheduled workshops and webinars.

As Learning & Development Admin Assistant you will support staff to access the Learning Management System, assist with e-learning queries, check and process programmes applications, maintain learner records on the database and liaise with providers and homes to resolve queries.

NEED TO HAVE

To supervise, support and educate junior members of the team.

· To provide senior nurse ward cover in the absence of the Ward Manager.

· To exercise accountability as set out in the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.

· To be responsible for all nursing care standards and to maintain high clinical standards.

· To act as a team leader and co-ordinate the multi-disciplinary care of a group of patients.
