We are looking for a Locum Healthcare Assistant to cover an assignment with the Ministry of Defence (MoD), at Yeovilton Medical Centre, in Ilchester, Yeovil.

This is a full-time locum role (37.5 hours per week) and the successful candidate will deliver an exceptional standard of care to the MoD service personnel.

Job Description – Service Requirements
• To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing basic ward-based nursing care within a Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) bedded down facility, to the Defence Medical Services (DMS) entitled Population at Risk (PAR)
• To provide general basic nursing care under supervision and direction of the Lead Practice Nurse, undertaking tasks and duties delegated by a suitably qualified and registered healthcare professional.
• To provide medical administrative support as required.
• To assist the Medical Officer’s (MOs) and practice nurse teams within Primary Health Care clinics, Occupational Health assessment clinics, chronic disease clinics and with health promotion.
• To record a range of clinical observations, tests and measurements such as, visual acuity, recording Electrocardiograms (ECGs), venepuncture, peak flow readings, spirometry, urinalysis and preparation of specimens for investigation, whilst working within individual scope of competence and following DMS and DPHC policy and procedures.
• To communicate effectively with patients in specific clinical situations and work collaboratively with the nursing team and administrative staff to meet the needs of patients.
• To comply with infection, prevention and control requirements.
• To use equipment in accordance with local equipment care directives and comply with Health and Safety policy and regulations.
• To undertake and remain in date for all mandatory training as set out in the most current DPHC Guidance Note entitled Mandatory Training for Locums, Agency Staff and single Service personnel working within DPHC.


Essential Requirements/ / Qualifications / Experience
• Must have a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ/SVQ) Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or an equivalent Healthcare related NVQ).
• Must have a minimum of 2 years recent experience within the last 3 years of working in general practice or other healthcare environment as an HCA.
• Must be in date for Basic Life Support (BLS), Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and Infection Prevention and Control (IPC).
• Must be able to provide certificates of training, as undertaken within the last three years, and/or be able to provide proof of clinical competency from a previous employer or Line Manager, who is a current registered healthcare professional, in:
- Recording ECGs
- Performing Venepuncture
- Performing urinalysis
- Preparation of specimens
- Undertaking simple dressing procedures
- Using aseptic technique
• Must be in date and able to provide certification for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Safeguarding Adults up to and including Level 2 training.

The successful applicant will deliver an exceptional standard of care to the MoD service personnel and their families.

Job Role:
• To provide clinical and administrative support to the Dental Officer to enable maintenance of the surgery. This includes preparation/sterilisation of all instruments before and after patients, reception duties, document handling, operation of dental computing system, processing radiographs, shared maintenance tasks and working in the central sterilisation area when in place.
• To be fully aware of the responsibilities of a registered healthcare professional and comply with the GDC Principles and Standards for Dental Professionals.

• To be accountable to the Senior Dental Officer through their line management.

As a Hospital Director at our Taunton Hospital, you'll inspire and lead the hospital's leadership team and create a culture which embraces, embeds and role models the 'We care' values & behaviours. You'll manage and develop diverse relationships working with consultants, GPs, the NHS and other external bodies to drive a patient centric culture, where care is proactively managed, the right conversations are had as a matter of course, and individuals are developed. This is a great opportunity for someone with commercial and/or clinical experience, in independent healthcare.

As Registered Manager and a 'fit and proper person' as defined by the CQC, you'll ensure continued development of external support networks and be accountable for meeting all CQC requirements, utilising and drawing on expertise within the relevant support functions where appropriate.

Here at InHealth, we are expanding our teams and we have a requirement for a Senior Registered Nurse with experience in an endoscopy setting. You will deliver Endoscopy services for our brand new Community Diagnostic Centre in Yeovil to the highest standards, using a model of care that recognises the psychological, physical and social needs of our patients. The Community Diagnostic centre is due to open in January 2025. What you will do: Take ownership and fulfil the requirements of any required statutory and mandatory training Deliver endoscopy services in our sites to the highest standards for our patients, carrying out pre, peri and post endoscopy care Complete competency assessments Lead teams of registered nurses and healthcare workers, escalating clinically where appropriate. Maintain effective communications with patients, relatives and other members of the multidisciplinary team Provide a safe care environment, including preparing and clearing up rooms and equipment, with particular care over infection control. About you: An experienced Senior Endoscopy Registered Nurse, with an advanced diploma of higher education in Nursing. A team player who is supportive, reliable, and trustworthy, who gets stuck in and creates a positive atmosphere Experienced in working in a multidisciplinary team A great communicator at all levels written, verbal and listening A person who naturally instils confidence in everyone they work with Calm in challenging situations, working well under pressure.
