The Initial Response Service (IRS) launched in the Bay in 2023 and since then it has consistently demonstrated itself to be an integral part of secondary mental health services; we’ve improved access to mental health services for individuals who need it, whilst reducing demands on care and treatment delivery services. In the most recent CQC report, the IRS was identified as a source of positive change in how mental health services are delivered in Lancashire and South Cumbria

Forget caseloads and case management. In the IRS your skills and expertise will be in assessing patients at the point of referral and identifying what service will best meet their needs moving forwards. The spectrum of mental health needs vary significantly; you will have the ability to offer advice and guidance for mild to moderate mental health issues and ways this can be managed and improved. Equally, you’ll have the ability respond to urgent referrals with more acute needs and higher risks in the community.

The Specialist Health Visitor for Perinatal & Infant Mental Health will work as part of the Lancashire Healthy Young People & Families Service and to be responsible for leading, embedding up to date research and evidence-based practice and developing Perinatal and Infant Mental Health services to all Lancashire Healthy Young People & Families Service staff. The specialist Health visitor will ensure the efficient delivery of the Healthy Child Programme, transition to parenthood and perinatal & infant mental health and other local commissioning requirements. This will include provision/oversight of any required training and Clinical Audit to provide assurance of a competent confident workforce. To ensure, jointly with other services, the development of multi-disciplinary pathways, policies and procedures to address the mental health needs of parents and infants in the perinatal period, including auditing of service. The Specialist HV for PIMH will have a high level of relevant, expert knowledge & skill and will work in collaboration with other services such as SPCMHT, MBU, Adult MH services, Midwifery, NICU, GPs, Third sector organisations and the Local authority. The Specialist Health Visitor will provide relevant specialist consultation, training and support to the universal childrens services in relation to Perinatal & Infant Mental Health, as well as the relationship of the parental couple. Are you a dedicated and forward-thinking pharmacist with expertise in haematology/oncology? We are seeking a high-calibre individual to join the Central Pharmacy Team and play a pivotal role in updating protocols and regimen builds within our SACT electronic prescribing system.

The system covers 11 hospitals across the Nuffield Health organisation and is accessed by a wide range of users including consultants, pharmacy teams, oncology nurses and admin teams. As an integral member of our central pharmacy team, you will work collaboratively to implement changes in medicines prescribing within the haematology/oncology specialty across Nuffield Health.

As a Specialist Oncology Pharmacist you'll:

• Lead and champion patient safety in own area of practice, seeking out potential issues and encouraging staff to call out and report safety concerns.

The Orchard is a stand-alone unit based in Lancaster. It is an 18 bedded unit that specialises in the assessment and treatment of mental health conditions. This enables people to return to their communities, and allows them to regain their independence.

We are looking for caring, empathetic, enthusiastic individuals who have a passion to improve the lives of our patients. These roles will be to provide care and support to patients who require mental health interventions, guidance or monitoring.

As a staff nurse you will work alongside the multi-disciplinary team to provide a high standard of care to those individuals who are within the most acute phase of illness; ensuring that all aspects of care are delivered. You will need effective communication skills and will be required to take on the roles of shift leader and named nurse.

You will be regularly supported and supervised by a more senior member of staff and a preceptorship is available if required.
