This is an exciting opportunity to join the National Bail Information Service (BIS) as a Bail Information Officer

Overview of the job

The National HMPPS Bail Information Service (BIS) is part of the Prisons Operations Directorate. The work of a Bail Information Officer (BIO) is varied, diverse, time critical and demand led. The job holder will undertake a full range of work with defendants and stakeholders supporting BIS processes and information gathering in prisons and produce factual and objective reports in preparation for court hearings (Magistrate and Crown Courts) where release on bail is being considered.

The job holder will work in a prison establishment within a designated BIS region and duties will be identified locally or centrally allocated. Reports will be prepared and written in advance of hearings.

The job holder will undergo additional specialised training to deliver the role.
This is a non-operational role with no line management responsibilities. Reporting to a designated manager within a BIS Regional Hub.

The job holder will have regular interaction, both in person and virtually, with defendants.

Summary

Contribute towards the provision of the National HMPPS Bail Information Service by providing a Bail Information Report to Magistrate and Crown Courts across England and Wales at hearings where release on bail is being considered.
Gather all required and available information and prepare factual and objective reports to be delivered to the judiciary in written format prior to hearings taking place.

Responsibilities, Activities and Duties

The job holder will be required to carry out the following responsibilities, activities and duties:

• Responsible for preparing written, BIRs concerning defendants appearing at second and subsequent bail hearings in Magistrate and Crown Courts following an initial period of remand into prison custody.
• Interview defendants held in prison establishments, either in person or via Video Link, to gather information relevant to bail applications. Verifying information provided wherever possible.
• Ensure proposed accommodation availability checks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
• Extract and interpret information relating to defendants from available systems and databases. Including where available NDelius, the Digital Prison System (DPS) and the Offender Assessment System (OASys). Identify previous offending behaviour and instances of non- compliance as well as previous engagement with Probation supervision. Liaising with Community Offender Managers where applicable.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders involved with BIS. Obtaining information relevant to the defendant and their application for release on bail. This will include, but is not limited to, solicitors, Probation Service, mental health teams, substance misuse services, and court staff.
• Ensure referrals to community organisations for defendants are completed to assist in addressing any identified support needs and to access ongoing support if released on bail.
• Analyse and accurately interpret complex Police records to identify any public protection or safeguarding concerns and submit necessary referrals/requests for information to Probation, Local Authorities, Police Forces and any other appropriate agencies.
• Liaise with Local Authorities, and where identified, share Safeguarding concerns and relevant information.
• Provide ongoing support and through-care to defendants remanded into custody in preparation for subsequent hearings at which release on bail is to be considered.
• Where there is an identified need for accommodation support, ensure referrals to Community Accommodation Services (Level 2) are completed and contribute towards referrals to Community Accommodation Services (Level 1) in line with National HMPPS Policy.
• Liaise with Immigration Teams or Home Office to gather information on defendants identified as Foreign Nationals.
• Contribute to the support of defendants identified as potential victims of modern-day slavery through liaison with the National Referral Mechanism Team.
• Ensure all relevant IT systems are updated to fully reflect the end-end process of BIS.
• Responsible for working collaboratively with colleagues across BIS to ensure it meets its aims and objectives. Supporting peers and maintaining effective and productive team relationships.

The Specialist Disability Service (SDS) is recruiting an Occupational Therapist to join our small friendly team. Working in the Environmental Controls (EC) service, you will assess our clients for specialist hi-tech disability equipment to help control computers and home appliances. This role focuses on independence, and gives an opportunity to be client-centred, and achieve positive outcomes for people. It would suit OTs with a keen interest in technology, who are either recently qualified, or looking for a new challenge.



The post holder will :
• Hold an independent caseload, and assess clients for the most appropriate equipment to help them access their home appliances and computer equipment
• Assist senior members of the team with complex assessments where access method or technical setup is more involved
• Conduct annual reviews to ensure safe and optimal use of the equipment provided to patients, from both a clinical and technical point of view

As required, the post holder will assist with:
• Setting up, installing and withdrawing equipment, ensuring each setup is tailored to individual patient needs
• Providing first line technical support and troubleshooting for patients

Work may be carried out by phone, video, or face-to-face with clients. This will involve travelling to see patients in their own environment (home, care home or hospital), primarily in the Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes areas. You do not need your own car, but you must be able to drive the service's pool cars.

Applicants should be registered Occupational Therapists and should have an interest in technology, but training in the specific equipment we use will be provided.

Performs the monthly medical record audit in coordination with the medical staff.

Processes requests for medical information from outside hospitals, clinics, and physicians.

Responds to requests from outside sources requesting release of BOP medical information, including court orders, requests by U.S. Attorneys and other institutions.

Codes, using ICD-9-CM, complicated diagnoses and procedures for discharged inmates, ensuring diagnoses and procedures are supported in the medical record and appropriately reported via Sentry.

If so, then this role would suit you and you can join a supportive team of like-minded people as an Information Analyst supporting the work of the Health Visiting Team, who are part of the Integrated Early Help Service.This role will be working within the Integrated Early Help Data team and will be based at Hailsham Family Hub.

The CIO will work collaboratively with the ICS digital leadership teams across all the ICSs within the group footprint and play an active role in the development of digital strategy within them.

Corporate Leadership and Responsibilities


• As a member of the Group Board and senior management team, contribute to the strategic and operational agenda, with a key role in the shaping of clinical and corporate services to improve population health outcomes, reduce health inequalities and meet the priorities of the trust and its commissioners. Work collaboratively with colleagues to drive delivery and improvement.

• Lead the development and implementation of the Group's Digital vision and strategy, championing the use of digital technology and practices.

• Identify and effectively manage information governance related risks and information and cyber security issues, communicating the importance of this across the Group and engendering a collective responsibility.

-Serves as Chief of Health Information Management (CHIM) with full program responsibility for all facets of the Health Information Management (HIM) program and processes. Must ensure HIM program meets and/or exceed national HIM policies, procedures, and performance metrics. Responsible for the administrative management of health records, which includes planning, managing, advising, and directing the health information program in accordance with applicable Federal laws, facility by-laws, VHA policy, The Joint Commission (TJC) standards, the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), and other regulatory and accrediting agency standards.

-Responsible for all facets of health records management for the facility ensuring maintenance of complete, accurate, timely, clinically-pertinent, and readily-accessible patient health records, which contain sufficient recorded information to serve as a basis to plan patient care, support diagnoses, warrant treatment, measure outcomes, support education and facilitate performance improvement processes and legal requirements. -Clinical support role: Serves as a key advisor to the Chief of Staff, Executive Management, and clinicians and is responsible for providing technical guidance on health information issues such as documentation requirements, liability issues, advance directives, informed consent, release of information, transcription/speech recognition, health information exchange, etc.

-Completes internal quality assurance reviews to ensure employee performance and that work meets quality and quantity standards. Establishes monitors to ensure the timeliness of health record entries and reports findings with subsequent trending of data.

-Serves as a key member of the Quality Improvement (QI) team, works closely with QI personnel, and is responsible for assuring that the facility is compliant with all TJC standards regarding health information.

-Assures that all patients have a complete, accurate, and timely record of their health care at the facility. Must assure that such information is appropriately stored and readily available for the provision of medical services to the patients.

This is considered the full performance level for ROI technician positions. ROI technicians at this level apply, interpret and analyze laws and regulations related to the disclosure of health information. Reporting to the Assistant Director, you will provide administrative and operational support that are critical to the operation of Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) activities for medical devices at one of SingHealth’s institutions to fulfil strategic priorities and initiatives across the cluster. You will collate and analyse information to facilitate management decisions and prepare reports for stakeholders. You will also work with the Biomedical Engineering (BME) shared services and IT security teams across SingHealth to ensure adequate risk oversight for medical devices and systems. This includes updating the asset inventory, support in implementation of relevant standards and good practices for IoMT medical devices, evaluating and executing work instructions and minimising risk for medical devices and systems. You will also provide secretariat support during meetings and participate in adhoc projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or equivalent are preferred. Degree holders with a recognised Diploma in Cybersecurity/IT will also be considered
• At least 2 years of relevant working experience in the area of IT, Operations and Risk Management with medical devices/systems understanding
• Good understanding of both IT and BME processes/operations and the relationship between them is an advantage
• Good working knowledge of the best practices in mitigating security risks for IoMT medical devices/systems
• Experience in healthcare facilities projects and/or government projects will be an added advantage
• Possess strong communication, administrative, organisational and management skills
• Reliable team player, independent and committed
