Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Lead for Occupational Health (Band 8B) to join the team at Working Well Gloucester. This role is ideal for an occupational health professional with a strong clinical background and leadership experience who is ready to take on a pivotal role in shaping and delivering exceptional occupational health services.
As the Clinical Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing clinical practices, ensuring the highest standards of care, and supporting the well-being of a diverse workforce. You'll work closely with other healthcare professionals, provide expert guidance, and drive quality improvements across the service. This is a dynamic and rewarding position that combines clinical expertise, strategic planning, and people management.
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage clinical services within the Occupational Health department, ensuring compliance with clinical standards and best practices.
• Provide expert guidance on occupational health issues, including risk assessments, workplace health promotion, and employee rehabilitation.
• Conduct clinical assessments, manage case reviews, and oversee complex cases.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement health and wellness programs.
• Ensure service standards are met and that the Occupational Health unit operates efficiently and effectively.
• Support and mentor junior team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Contribute to policy development and service improvements in line with current legislation and best practices in occupational health.

Requirements:

• Registered Nurse with specialist training in Occupational Health or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in a senior occupational health role, ideally within an NHS or similar healthcare setting.
• Demonstrated leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and develop teams.
• Strong understanding of occupational health standards, legislation, and compliance.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with staff at all levels.
• Competency in assessing and managing clinical risks and complex cases.

To work as part of a psychiatric liaison team providing a core mental health liaison and assessment service providing clinical cover 09:00-17:00 to the Paediatric Department on a 7 day per week basis
To support the service in developing and delivering a liaison service, from age 11-15

Job Description

Offer an assessment service to patients presenting at the emergency and paediatric departments with broad range of mental health and psychological problems, and psychiatric illnesses
Providing a mental health consultation, liaison and advice service throughout the departments
Delivering a range of evidence based psychological interventions to individual patients aged 11-15 who have predominantly self-harmed
Assisting and supporting general hospital colleagues in making decisions about treatment and care in complex situations
Providing formal and informal education and clinical supervision to registered and unregistered staff
Representing mental health services within Hospitals Trust
Providing a communication structure between secondary mental health services, primary care and non-statutory services, as a means of ensuring the highest possible standards patients care

Requirements

The candidate must show Extensive experience in Occupational Health nursing and proven Experience of Management.

Working Well Occupational Health Service is a member of the Health @ Work network of Occupational Health Units in England. The service is hosted by Gloucestershire Health and Care Services NHS Foundation Trust and provides Occupational Health services to the NHS Health community within Gloucestershire. In addition the service has a sizeable external portfolio of non-NHS, private and public clients. Services are provided to approximately 20,000 employees in total.

The Services main Headquarters is at Rikenel Montpellier Gloucester with additional services provided at satellite sites throughout Gloucestershire and Herefordshire for NHS and non-NHS organisations

To provide clear visible professional Occupational Health (OH) advice and support in order to effectively promote the ethos and practice of OH to both management and employees.
To meet the OH needs of NHS Trusts, as well as a wide range of other clients from both the private and public sectors.
To work autonomously and as part of the multi-disciplinary team.
To manage and provide professional leadership to junior OH nurses and the wider multi-disciplinary team within Working Well.
To undertake/supervise specific projects, audit and research related to the professional development of OH nursing.
To assist the Nurse Manager in leading and advancing clinical practice in line with DOH guidelines and legislation.
To take a senior role in the in the development and provision of a high profile and pro active occupational health service
To maintain confidentiality in line with professional guidelines.
