In this rewarding role based in the village of Chalgrove, you’ll join a well-established, friendly team in supporting aduts who have complex physical needs and learning disabilities.

We have fpart time opportunities available for 30 hours.

Brandon exists to enable children, young people and adults with a learning disability, autism, or both, to live life in the way they choose. We provide high-quality, individualised support to around 1,600 people and have a staff team of over 2,000. Operating across southern England and London, support is provided by a widely dispersed workforce, including public spaces and the homes of the people we support.

The support we provide is centred around each person’s values, preferences and needs this includes developing daily living skills, accessing a wider community, personal care and medication needs. In this role you’ll run shifts, manage the support workers and support the health needs of the individuals.

Working in a welcoming, friendly nursing home, you’ll have flexibility and access to shifts that work for you including sleep-ins. You'll help to inspire the team to ensure the people we support get the very best out of life.

You will:

• Have a nursing qualification with current NMC registration (RNLD, RMN or RGN)

• Confident and calm under pressure.

• Experience working with people with a learning disability.

• Flexible, open to a challenge and innovative in your approach.

• Clinical expertise or willing to learn and undertake relevant clinical skills

• Ability to drive and willingness to use your own transport on Brandon business is desirable

Your responsibilities:

• You’ll provide specialist nursing and be a role model in the delivery of direct support to people with a learning disability.

• Be involved in the day-to-day organisation of the work of the support team so that people receive the right amount of support at the right time at the agreed level.

• Support people to achieve their personal outcomes in relation to managing their daily life.

• Carry out nursing procedures in line with local or district guidelines.

• Communicate effectively with other members of the team, families and stakeholders, where appropriate, to ensure continuity of care.

• Work as part of a nursing team to ensure that the best outcomes are achieved for the people supported.

All team leader nurses work flexible shifts to provide a 24/7 service. Successful applicants for this role will require an enhanced DBS check.
