As the next phase of the "Think 111 First" service, NHS England have launched a major new campaign to encourage the use of the “111, Press 2” service for mental health.

Locally, in North Central London this service is hosted in partnership by Barnet Enfield & Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust and Camden & Islington NHS Foundation Trust. This hub, based at St Ann’s Hospital will provide a 24/7, all-age service for people who need advice and support with a mental health need.

As part of the new hub, you will also have the opportunity to support the Mental Health Clinical Advice Line for Police with their often-difficult Section 136 decisions, and where appropriate signposting them to alternatives to the use of Section 136 across London.

Haringey CAMHS are looking to recruit CWPs to continue to improve children and young people’s mental health services in Haringey. The training forms part of the service transformation initiative delivered by NHS England as part of the Children and Young People’s Psychological Trainings (CYP-PT) programme.

This is a training position post holder will undertake training at Kings College London alongside working in service for Haringey CAMHS. They will be taught to deliver evidence based guided self-help interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. The post holder will use their newly developed skills to support children and young people who are referred into the service and trainees will receive supervision to support their professional development.

Applicants will need to be ready to start work in early/mid-January 2025 and posts cannot be offered to candidates unless they can guarantee this start date.

You will be a Senior Practitioner within the Learning Disability and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder Keyworker Service for Barnet Enfield and Haringey: providing direct support to children with learning disabilities and/or autism with mental health needs and/or presenting with behaviours of concern.



The LD/ASD Keyworker Service provides intensive interventions for children and young people who are part of the LD & ASD cohort. The aim is to keep children, young people in the community, to prevent avoidable admissions to Tier 4 inpatient mental health services and 52-week residential placements, and to support young people in this cohort, to be discharged from Tier 4 services and be supported back into the community.



You will be liaising and coordinating with a range of teams and organisations across Barnet, Enfield, and Haringey, including CAMHS providers, social care teams, Tier 4 providers, schools, and other community health providers.



The service is NCL wide but has two teams working across two localities:

The post offered is that of Consultant Psychiatrist in General Adult Psychiatry (10PA), working in the Barnet North Core Community Team. The team is aligned to the Primary Care GP Locality in the North of the Borough. The post holder will share consultant lead responsibilities with one full-time substantive consultant in the service, ensuring high quality, patient-centered, effective and safe care is delivered by the team. This post will have responsibility for adults with complex mental health presentations. The North Team is one of three adult core community teams (previously known as locality teams) within Barnet (North, South and West).
The team is multi-disciplinary and consists of professionals from a number of backgrounds including nursing, social work, psychiatry, psychology, occupational therapy, graduate mental health workers and community engagement workers and are supported by a dedicated admin team. The care delivered is recovery-focused which involves a change in focus from managing problems and symptoms to focusing on an individual’s strengths and goals for the future. The service aims to assist individuals to be in control of your own life and seek out opportunities beyond their condition.
The service is for adults experiencing a range of mental health difficulties and who may also have complex needs that would be best met by secondary mental health services.

As part of this the post holder will have the opportunity of having a more senior consultant as a mentor. The post holder will have consultant and RC responsibility for a defined caseload of service users under the care of the Barnet West Core Community Mental Health Team.

To work as an Assistant Psychologist based within Mental Health Services for Older People. The post is based in the Psychology Service for Older People, working alongside the Community Mental Health Team for Older People, Memory Service and Specialist Dementia Service. All clinical work will be under supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist and the role will include some joint work with members of the multi-disciplinary team

The role will working with clients with mental health problems and/or cognitive difficulties/dementia and their carers. This will include delivering the START programme, which is a manualized CBT-based intervention for carers of people living with dementia, as well as managing the database of referrals to the programme. The role will also include delivering some psychological informed interventions for individuals as well as group work, for example the Haringey Older People’s Enablement group and Cognitive Stimulation Therapy

We are excited to be advertising two Structured Clinical Management (SCM) practitioner roles based here in adult secondary care in Haringey.

The SCM Practitioner role offers the opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced mental health practitioner to further develop their skills in offering an evidenced-based intervention for service users with Complex Emotional Needs (CEN). The post holder will work alongside other SCM practitioners, psychological therapists and mental heath professionals to implement SCM as part of a core offer.

The successful candidate will be a qualified Mental Health Practitioner (e.g. RMN, Occupational Therapist, Clinical Associate Psychologist) and may have additional training in SCM, DBT or MBT and an interest in complex PTSD and complex trauma. In addition, the ideal candidate will have worked with services users with CEN offering assessment, formulation and therapeutic intervention.



You will have access to SCM training and regular supervision (e.g. group and/or individual). You will work as a member of the Complex Emotional Needs team providing 1-1 and group interventions to service users with complex emotional and relational needs and other comorbidities (e.g. PTSD symptoms) as part of a core offer. You will work with a caseload of people within the SCM programme.

• To make onward referrals and signpost to other services including VCSE and neighbourhood services to enable wrap around, holistic support for service users undergoing treatment to meet a broad range of need.

• To liaise with and develop relationships with other agencies involved in the service users care to ensure consistent multi agency approach and maintain effective communication

• Provide advice and guidance to other members of the team in relation to SCM.

The North London Mental Health Partnership Haringey Division is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or Systemic Family Therapist (with a core mental health qualification) to lead on the strategic development of the psychology service provision within ourHaringey Urgent Care Services(wards and home treatment) and ourCommunity Rehabilitation Team.

This post provides excellent management and leadership opportunities through the coordination of the urgent care psychology team. The post also provides service development opportunities and close and collaborative working with MDT colleagues in the community rehabilitation team.

This post and the teams are well-established with exciting initiatives implemented in the last few years. The post is based at St Ann's Hospital in South Tottenham and is supported by a growing and innovative psychology workforce. One of our initiatives is to promote trauma-informed services, as well as increased access to specialist trauma therapies. A benefit of the post will be to receive training and on-going supervision in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).

The post holder:

This is an exciting opportunity to continue the development of Trauma Informed Practice within the psychological provision in these services. The post holder will lead on this initiative with support from senior divisional staff including the Haringey adult psychology lead. You will be based at St. Ann’s Hospital where the inpatient wards are accommodated in Blossom Court, a recently built state of the art mental health unit with an adjacent day therapy centre.



The opening of Blossom Court created an opportunity to rethink the clinical model of care of the Urgent Care Service alongside the remodelling of the physical environment. The new clinical model, created following a series of workshops with service users and carers, aims to develop a service with a more systemic and trauma informed approach. Along with senior Urgent Care staff you will be central to the continued development of this model with Trauma Informed Practice at its core.
