Ribble Valley Borough Council is located in the heart of Lancashire, the borough is made up of picturesque towns and villages with scenic countryside; it is also known as the food capital of the north.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated candidate with aspirations of becoming a qualified food safety officer. Having previous experience working within the food industry is essential.
You will work in the food /health and safety team covering food hygiene inspections, infectious disease control, investigation of food complaints, animal licencing and health and safety inspections/investigations.
Good IT skills, a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, as well as a flexible approach to working hours are also essential.
As part of the qualification process, the successful candidate will be required to attend lectures at Birmingham University - the draft university timetable for the ‘Higher Certificate in Food Control’ programme can be viewed in the application pack. Expenses will be reimbursed for travel and subsistence.
