CATERING Service Duties Inform patients about the Hospitals food offer and the procedure for any ad-hoc requests and help them to make an informed choice from the range of foods and beverages. Order food using the hospitals electronic ordering devices. Liaise with nurses, caterers and dieticians to ensure patients food, nutrition/clinical needs and preferences are identified and met. Identify patients not eating sufficiently to the Nurse in Charge. Ensure appropriate feedback is given on the patients food service experience e.g. quality, quantity and choice. Provide information to the next food service assistant who is on duty using the guidelines provided to ensure a seamless service. Store food in accordance with manufactured guidelines and food safety legislation. Offer patients a choice of hot & cold beverages, as and when required a minimum of 5 times a day. Ensure a regular supply of fresh water is provided to each patient throughout the day. Serve the patients their choice and portion size of main dish, vegetables and accompaniments in an appealing and appetising way. Offer second portions if required. Ensure patients with special dietary requirements receive the appropriate food following liaison with the dietician or nurse. Identify appropriate meal choices to meet patients needs/preferences. Movement of food to wards/RDU as required adhering to food safety legislation. Maintain adequate stock levels to meet the needs of the patient e.g. milk, bread, tea, coffee, cereal, and preserves. Identify shortages of crockery and cutlery to the Facilities Team Leader. Ensure an appropriate supply of crockery and cutlery is available. Ensure efficient and safe use of cleaning equipment. Prepare the patients eating environment (day room/bedside table) to the standards stipulated in the ward manual according to where the patient wishes to eat, to ensure a relaxed environment. Clear cutlery/crockery and clean dayroom/bedside table following service promptly. Clean all surfaces and equipment in the kitchen according to the daily cleaning schedule. Carry out daily and weekly cleaning tasks as directed through the cleaning schedules and complete the required paperwork.

Under the direction of the Unit Supervisor or working on their own to produce appealing and high quality foods to meet the nutritional and cultural needs of customers within the agreed budget and resources. You will produce food in all areas of the Central Production Unit & the Wolfson Cystic Fibrosis Centre kitchen at City campus and the Receipt and Distribution Unit at the QMC campus. These areas may include main courses, vegetables, salads, bakery and therapeutic diets.

The post holder will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness of all catering equipment and building hygiene in relation to all catering areas, to ensure the service of all types of food and beverage is given to the expected standards required of the department.

Hours of work are 37.5 per week working between the hours of 6am and 8pm on a rota basis which will include weekends and bank holidays.

An opportunity to work in a large team of caterers working in our purpose built central food production unit (CPU).

You will be required to produce patient meals that are cooked fresh and then blast frozen to retain all the nutrients before being stored in our large holding freezer, before being delivered to our wards and then re-heated.

65 percent of the ingredients used are sourced from local farms and suppliers so that our patients have the Nottingham connection.

You will be required to produce all food under supervision and in accordance with food hygiene legislation 1999.

Enhanced rates of pay will be paid for weekend working and unsocial hours.

To prepare, produce and serve food in accordance with food hygiene legislation1999.

GENERAL DUTIES

Your Duties Will Include:

* Managing and maintaining bank accounts to ensure sufficient level of funds are held in each account
* Supporting the Finance Assistant with daily cash postings as required, ensuring all postings are accurate, while considering
the wider impact on the business
* Ensuring that BACS payments are processed on a weekly basis
* Supporting the roll out of the new credit card scheme, leading the project across the Group and ensuring a smooth transition
and successful implementation
* Performing bank reconciliations including investigating any reconciling items, reviewing bank reconciliations performed by the
Finance Assistant
* Completing weekly cash books and using these for weekly cashflow forecasting
* Developing and maintaining 13 week rolling cash flow models, to reconcile to weekly actual cash positions
* Support the Group’s strategic currency risk management through hedging, and creating currency forecasts
* Work with the wider Central Finance team to produce the supply chain financing notifications, and ensure supply chain financing
is drawn down in the most effective manner
