We are looking for an experienced Head Chef to join our established team working with our clients based in Guildford.
Joining our team at their site in Surrey, you will lead the delivery and development of the on-site catering including the restaurant, retail and hospitality, drive Innovation and food trends to that of the high street exceed customer expectations, ensuring the quality, efficiency and compliance of all services at all times.
The Head Chef will manage the commercial performance of the catering offer to ensure this remains in line with the agreed budget including management of labour and stock, charging for events & hospitality and control of food margin to ensure that all food is prepared and packaged with due care and attention, particularly in regard to allergen management, calorie management and labelling.
You will take ownership and accountability of all the on-site Sodexo food offers, leading the team to always ensure the quality, efficiency and compliant delivery of the service in line with the agreed budget, act as an ambassador for Sodexo with safety at all times, promoting the message of safety first and a Zero harm culture and identify opportunities for continuous improvement of the Sodexo food offers to maintain/improve efficiency, value and customer satisfaction.
Taking an active role in Sodexo Central Food Platform networks, you will contribute to the continued development of our food offers, talent programmers and systems to deliver high quality, sustainable food offers utilising Sodexo food delivery tools.
About You
Experience and knowledge requirement for this role:
- Previous experience of operating in a senior kitchen management role (Exec Chef/Head Chef/Senior Sous Chef role)
- A passion for exceptional food and service
- Proven experience in leading a kitchen team in a diverse environment with a focus on client and customer service
- Managing a small team delivering customer excellence across Restaurant, Hospitality, Vending and Retail delivering breakfast and lunch and coffee bar services
- Ability to work with typical IT Systems related to food services delivery (production planning tools, stock management systems, allergen management, finance management & reporting, labour management)
- Experience of introducing and promoting new and innovative menu options across all food service lines
- Commercial acumen, strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
- Industry acumen and knowledge of catering developments & innovations
- Flexibility and ability to work on own initiative
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
Qualifications required:
- A third level qualification (HACCP/Culinary Arts/Professional Cookery) or 706 1/2 or equivalent as a minimum
- Professional Chef Level 3/4 or equivalent
- CIEH level 3 or equivalent
