What you’ll be doing
- Cooking and preparing food for breakfast, lunch and dinner, handling up to 1,000 meals at a time.
- Support the effective delivery of special functions or events
- Working well as part of a team of chefs, supporting one another and communicating effectively.
- Following recipe cards to prepare, cook, and serve a variety of meals.
- Completing daily paperwork to ensure due diligence.
- Assisting with deliveries and stock checks.
- Sharing responsibility with the Chef Manager/Catering Manager for checking, probing, and signing off on all food deliveries.
- Monitoring and recording temperatures of fridges, freezers, hot cabinets, and serveries.
- Assisting in daily and weekly kitchen deep cleans.
- Having full knowledge of all menu items served.
- Managing production and food levels to ensure minimal wastage.
- Acting as a trainer/coach for new team members to learn procedures and standards for all kitchen tasks.
- Undertaking relevant training as required
Experience/Qualifications
- Relevant culinary qualification
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Driving licence desirable
- A CTC Security check will be required
- Must be eligible to work in the UK
- Allergen awareness
- Excellent team player and communicator
