Job Summary
Serves as a wayfinder for patients coming to the hospital, similar to a concierge, assisting patients, families, and visitors throughout the entire stay at the hospital, as appropriate. Responsible for positively reflecting the organization in warm and welcoming customer service to all patients, families and visitors, ensuring guests have a pleasant experience. Will be managing the scheduling for patients, families and visitors, to assist them in finding their assigned locations throughout the hospital. This role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of the organization and the services inside and within the community. Acts as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care, creating personable and memorable hospitality experiences.
Essential Functions
- Serves as a wayfinder for patients, families, and visitors coming to the hospital, similar to a concierge.
- Responsible for positively reflecting the organization in warm and welcoming customer service to all patients, families, and visitors, ensuring guests have a pleasant experience. Central to providing support to the patients and visitors to Corewell Health, providing a welcoming and professional service and a friendly face.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the organization and the services inside and within the community
- Performs general errands and other routine duties including snack services, magazine services, cleaning waiting areas, cleaning equipment, securing supplies, and other tasks as required. Adheres to unit procedures wherever transport services rendered.
- Work as a team member helping others to contribute to the overall success of Corewell Health
- Effectively communicates with medical employees to ensure all required medical supplies and medications are appropriately transported with the patient including the administering of oxygen when required.
- Cleans and disinfects equipment according to established policies and procedures. Maintains clean work areas and returns equipment to appropriate department. Communicates malfunctioning equipment/instruments to appropriate department/unit staff. Monitors parking areas and grounds from a facility presentation standpoint and potential security issues
- Transports all patient populations to and from examinations and treatments, as needed.
Qualifications
- Required High School Diploma or equivalent
- 6 months of relevant experience strong knowledge and understanding of the organization and the services inside and within the community Preferred
