Facilities Manager
Hours: 37.5 per week (Mon-Fri 08:30 – 17:00)
Location: Field based with regular attendance at our Head Office in Newbridge, Edinburgh a requirement

We are looking for an experienced Facilities Manager preferably with a surveying, building or trade background who will be responsible for the Society’s entire property portfolio of around 350 sites, including Scotmid and Semichem Stores, Funeral branches, and our Semichem warehouse facility. As Facilities Manager you will manage and respond to maintenance works, PPM’s, reactive call outs and planned project work.

The ideal candidate should possess strong relationship-building skills, have stakeholder management experience, along with a proven track record in delivering solutions clearly and succinctly.
We are interested in hearing from candidates who previously worked in a surveying, building related or trade background who is looking to move their career into Facilities Management.
The role
Key responsibilities of the role will include:
· Conducting site audits and planning for future works
· Undertaking planned maintenance activities and managing the performance and delivery of contracts
· Using Contractors to assess, repair, and replace assets
· Responding to emergency situations with clarity and controlled information flow
· Maintaining maintenance contracts within agreed budgets
· Undertaking procurement activities
· Contributing proactively to Opex and Capex budget preparation
· Project managing facilities management related capital projects
· Collaborating with stakeholders to drive delivery and meet expectations
Key Qualities:
· Flexibility and adaptability
· Strong business focus for delivery
· Resilience and ability to handle challenging scenarios
· Extensive FM experience across multifunctional sites
· Building-related qualification or equivalent (advantageous)
Hours of Work
This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. Daily working hours will generally be 8.30am – 5pm, Monday to Friday, but some flexibility will be required from time to time to meet the needs and requirements of the role. This is a field-based role with the requirement to attend our offices in Newbridge, Edinburgh on a regular basis.
Salary and Benefits
