We are looking to offer a full -time permanent contract for an inspiring teacher and leader to join our academy as Head of the secondary food curriculum. The role will include a teaching timetable for KS3 and KS4. The staffing team will consist of 3 staff members which includes this new role. The Head of Food will take responsibility for the quality of the food curriculum and ensure that planning provides engaging lessons for our pupils and that lessons are fully resourced. The Head of Food will ensure that the curriculum is sequenced, that pupils make progress and achieve outcomes. We deliver GCSE Food and also ASDAN Foodwise currently You will lead on changes to exam regulations and organise high quality GCSE food practicals and coursework for the team. You will be able to articulate the subject and lead on Deep Dives. Our sites are small compared to mainstream and house around 100 pupils. Classes may have up to around 10 pupils and you will be an allocated form tutor.

We welcome applications from candidates who are able to teach engaging and inspiring food lessons to challenging and disengaged KS3 and 4 pupils.

Applicants should have good knowledge and experience of working with disaffected pupils in a school or other alternative setting. About the role:

As we continue to evolve, we have an exciting opportunity for a General Manager to join our team. You’ll have 138 bedrooms, (and another 47 under development!) Wave leisure club and spa, 8 meeting rooms with capacity for 300 and our restaurant 1269.

As our Head of Hospitality, you'll ensure that our restaurants and catering facilities are maintained and delivering delicious meals to the highest standard.



You'll help us make health happen by:

• Managing, training and developing other Hospitality employees in the team and keeping a record of all instructions given, especially where use of equipment is involved
• Being responsible for the management and running of all hospitality operations including the village café bar
• Ensuring the delivery of high quality and nourishing meals to residents across the Village
• Leading on staff management duties including rota management, recruitment, staff appraisals and development
• Working collaboratively with other department heads and function organisers for special events
• Leading on the promotion of hospitality services to maximise revenue
• Developing, operating and monitoring appropriate systems for all kitchen areas, ensuring the cleanliness and hygiene of all kitchen areas and equipment is maintained to the highest standard
• Responsible for the management and running of housekeeping & laundry services across the village also Kitchen & front of House
• Liaising on a regular basis with the Heads of Departments to ensure appropriate stock levels, all machinery is in good working condition and high standards of cleanliness
• Active liqueur licence required

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

You'll have experience of managing a team in a hospitality or catering environment or you may have previously worked in a similar role in a care setting. Self-motivated and a great communicator, you'll be comfortable leading a team. Your organised and flexible approach will ensure our teams are sensitive to the needs of our residents. An active team leader, always leading by example to create and deliver an excellent hospitality experience across the Village.

Because we care for vulnerable people, we'll need you to complete a DBS check as part of the recruitment process. Bupa will cover the cost of this (£40).

About the role…

The moment a guest steps into one of our hotels, they walk into a genuinely memorable experience. You’ll deliver this through managing all aspects of Front of House, creating a unique and special visit for our guests. You’ll also create the warm atmosphere that make our guests feel at home in any location, as well as ensuring they have an enjoyable and successful stay

Amongst other things, you’ll do this by managing the day-to-day staffing needs, plan and assign work and establish performance and development goals for team members. Provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to improve team member performance - Initiating and completing any HR related activities where required. You’ll be aware of and create departmental goals, ensuring communication of these across the team so they are all working towards achieving or exceeding targets such as Guest Satisfaction Scores
