NEP Australia is currently looking for an Audio & Communications Engineer (Comms Technician) with exceptional drive and work ethics, excellent interpersonal skills, and brilliant technical minds to join our Australian Teams, Field & HUB.
The principal purpose of this position is to efficiently set up, operational testing of the in-field audio/communications facilities of any field or studio project you are assigned to.
Key Responsibilities but not limited to:
· To ensure all audio communication facilities in and around the OB compound are functioning and patched to be operationally ready by the scheduled hand-over time.
· To liaise with the project’s Audio Director and Technical Manager to ensure you are fully briefed on the size, scope, production schedule of the in-field audio and communications facilities required.
· Ensure the environment of the audio and communications facilities is neat and tidy and professionally presented and does not pose any danger to the public or co-workers.
Required skills and attributes:
· Both Riedel and RTS communications systems are used across our fleet of trucks and HUBs, and a solid and fundamental knowledge of these (or similar) Communications systems is a necessary requirement to apply for this role.
· Basic knowledge of audio consoles, with particular focus on LAWO and Calrec.
· A good level of Operational experience is a definite requirement, and ideally the candidate should have a good level of understanding of these devices at an Engineering level too.
· We do a lot of sport, so weekend and evening work are a predominant part of the role.
· Minimum 3 years of television broadcasting experience is preferred.
