Senior or Principal Consultant in Low Carbon Fuels & Chemicals, UK-based

The role
Continued growth in work related to low carbon fuels & chemicals means that we plan to expand our team in this area, focusing on experienced candidates. The successful candidate(s) will participate in a wide variety of project work and activities in this area, and will also have the opportunity to contribute to projects across sustainable energy more broadly.
Your responsibilities and activities will primarily include:
Participating in and managing projects on all aspects of low carbon fuels and chemicals, including techno-economic modelling of supply chains, pre-feasibility studies and supply chain formation, technical and commercial due diligence, and markets, sustainability and policies analyses;
Identifying new business opportunities;
Participating in or leading proposal writing;
Communicating with clients on project and business development matters;
Contributing to the development and implementation of consulting market strategies, including thought leadership on the evolution of low carbon fuels and chemicals;
Line management is likely to form part of your duties, though not necessarily from day one;
Contributing to internal and external communication activities, including participation in conferences.
There will be opportunities to develop and apply strategy, project management, business development and team leadership skills. You will join a high calibre team working from one of our UK offices (most of the team is London-based). There will be frequent interaction with our international teams and with clients at a range of locations globally, though most of our work is office, not client-based.

About you
We are looking for a consultant with a demonstrated commitment to client satisfaction, who enjoys problem solving in a complex environment. You must also have enthusiasm, initiative, and a manifest interest in energy and sustainability.
Suitable candidates will have an excellent technical background in science or engineering (ideally to postgraduate level) relevant to low carbon fuels and/or chemicals, and prior relevant experience gained in a consulting or industry context.
Specific expertise in one or more of the following areas is sought: oil and gas (refining and petrochemicals), advanced biofuels, e-fuels and recycled carbon fuels, bio-based chemicals and materials, recycled chemicals and plastics covering aspects related to technologies, markets and policy, and supply chains.
Techno-economic, supply chain and market analysis expertise is particularly valuable.
Candidates will have a strong aptitude for strategic consulting, and ideally an aptitude to work across other areas of sustainable energy and chemicals.
All candidates must have the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, and enjoy problem solving.
You must also have enthusiasm, initiative, and a strong interest in energy and environmental issues.
Fluent English is essential and other languages would be an advantage.
