We are seeking an enthusiastic, passionate and experienced Welding Technician to join our team at B&P Metal in Southall. You will be joining a well-known metals works company in this region and will play a pivotal role for the smooth growth of our business. We are currently in need of a skilled Welding Technician to match the expansion of our business and to meet the enhanced customers’ demand. As a Welding trades workers, you will be responsible for joining metal parts by welding, brazing and soldering, and cut and remove defects from metal using a variety of equipment and techniques
Job Responsibility
As a Welding Technician, you will be responsible for:
• Selecting appropriate welding equipment such as electric arc, gas torch, etc.;
• Selecting appropriate tools & metals, measuring and assembling metal pieces using cutting tools, determining gas ratios, drilling holes, and monitoring inventory;
• Connecting wires to power supply, or hoses to oxygen, acetylene, argon, carbon dioxide, electric arc, or other source and adjusts controls to regulate gas pressure and rate of flow;
• Cleaning and smoothing weld;
• Guiding electrode or torch along line of weld, burns away damaged areas, and melts brazing alloy or solder into joints;
• Checking finished work piece for defects and conformity with specification;
• Welding in all positions and thickness;
• Ensuring maintenance and reactive repairs to the company’s equipment
Cutting metal pieces using gas torch or electric arc;
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times and report any issues to the line manager;
• Joining the metals of varying compositions by operating specialised hand and power tools
In addition to the responsibilities referred to above, you must have excellent communication skills and a great sense of innovation and leadership quality. You need to be flexible, self-motivated, organised and time sincere. You must have the ability to work independently as well as a part of team having excellent attention to details. Three years’ of experience in a similar role is required.

Salary
