We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Kitchen Porter / General Catering Assistant who is a fast learner with the ability to work unsupervised and follow instructions, with an understanding of food hygiene and kitchen health and safety.

As the Kitchen Porter / General Catering Assistant you will support the kitchen and food & beverage teams ensuring all kitchen areas are clean and tidy, and all crockery and cutlery is prepared to ensure smooth running of the service.

DUTIES

Your duties as a Kitchen Porter / General Catering Assistant will include:

• Daily cleaning of all kitchen areas, staff canteens and kitchen corridors

• The washing of all kitchen equipment for the chefs and all crockery and cutlery for the restaurant service staff

• Ensure the kitchen is kept clean during service times and that all walk through areas are kept clear of any obstruction and that floors are kept dry

• Communicate effectively with all staff

• The ability to work unsupervised in a busy environment

• Ability to follow strict instructions in a systematic and consistent manner

• Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students

• Understanding of food hygiene and kitchen health and safety

• Good organisational skills
