Yorkshire Wildlife Trust is one of the UK’s fastest growing nature conservation organisations and seeks to appoint a Project
Assistant.



The Project Assistant will support the delivery of a suite of nature recovery network and conservation projects across North
Yorkshire. The post is based within a North Project team of seven, responsible developing and delivering exciting new initiatives,
and a wider North team of 17 that also deliver reserves management and our conservation grazing programme.



The Project Assistant will deliver a range of river catchment based / landscape scale, nature conservation initiatives that help
increase the reach and connectivity of our work and increase the overall impact for nature throughout the region. Key projects the
post holder would be involved with include White-Clawed Crayfish conservation, pond creation for Great Crested Newts, wetland and
wader conservation in the mid-Swale, and the restoration of the River Esk and Foss. This will involve delivering practical tasks
and survey field work, in addition to liaising with volunteers, stakeholders and contractors during project delivery.



Key skills, knowledge and experience required to undertake this role include:

* Experience of undertaking physical and practical tasks
* Good time management skills and ability to forward plan.
* Recording/data inputting skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* A “can do” and flexible approach, keen to work in a team, but with the ability to work alone.

The team is responsible for around 550 Cisco LAN/WAN devices, which allow network connections to over 8000 PC’s, Printers, and over 4000 Cisco IP Phones. The team is also responsible for the Cisco video infrastructure and support the Cisco IPT solution across the trusts estate. The team is also responsible for the perimeter security solutions deployed across the York and Scarborough teaching hospitals sites.

The trust has recently undergone a complete LAN and WiFi and DC replacement programme utilising Cisco DNA, WiFi 6 and ACI technologies to ensure the trust is capable of delivering safe and effective health care whilst leveraging the most recent clinical and IT technologies

The successful candidate will work closely with experienced Network Specialists and will assist the Network Manager to proactively manage the converged data network and perimeter security solutions. The implementation of comprehensive standards and controls to ensure the provision of a robust and resilient converged network infrastructure which meets the minimum data security standards expected of a healthcare infrastructure. There will be a particular focus on the development, provisioning and implementation of the wired and wireless infrastructure across LAN and Wan connected sites. This role will also include 3rdline support to the platform and EUC teams for project delivery and ongoing fault resolution.

The successful candidate will also liaise closely with customers, other members of the Department and external suppliers to ensure compliance of new developments within production constraints and implement any changes as approved by the DIS change advisory board.

The role will require you to be available for an on-call rota requiring Out of hours support and candidate will be required to travel between sites and carry equipment. Pool car will be provided.

Post holder will be responsible for provision of a range of audiometric investigations and a comprehensive hearing aid service to child population of Scarborough.

One of the main responsibilities to provide more complex assessments (OAE, ERA) and perform these as trained appropriately.

The post holder is to undertake aural impressions for all age groups working within national and departmental protocols and to provide a comprehensive hearing aid service to patients referred to the Department from GPs and the ENT Department, including provision of a full range of NHS digital hearing aids to all age groups in line with the Modernising Hearing Aid Service directives.

Please note, the main base for this post will be York Hospital, with cross site working required as the service needs.

· To undertake objective testing, including ERA

· To perform pure tone, impedance and speech audiometry testing, advising patients and referring clinicians on management plans based on information obtained from these as appropriate

· To recommend further investigations as required, either referring to the appropriate member of staff or carrying out the procedures if appropriately trained

• To note results of testing in hospital notes and departmental records as appropriate, including providing patient reports as necessary and ensuring that these are filed in hospital and departmental records

· To ensure that departmental child auditory rehabilitation protocols and procedures are adequately documented and are kept up to date with national standards

· Communicates complex information and condition related information to patients, relatives and carers of hearing impaired children (involves sensitive support and counselling where they may be significant emotional distress)

· To oversee the paediatric service provision for paediatric hearing assessment and rehabilitation with or without amplification of children of all ages including young babies

· To assess the general auditory (re)habilitative needs of hearing impaired adults and children with respect to their audiological status, communication skills and social needs

This newly created position within the Chief Operating Officer's team offers a unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced and influential leader. You will play a key role in the design and delivery of clinical strategy and 5-year road map for York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and must be committed to improving services and outcomes for patients and their families.

• Develop relationships with the care groups leadership teams and clinic service leadership teams to support the development and delivery of a clinical strategy and annual business plans.

Ellerby's restaurant is a modern and stylish restaurant located at York Hospital NHS. We are looking predominantly for service people who can deliver "Make Their Day" service on a daily basis.

The restaurant is a fast paced environment and is very busy during lunch times service. You will be mainly serving hospital staff and visitors and we require someone with lots of drive and energy, "can do" attitude, and flexibility to help out in patient ward service and the Barista , when needed.

The restaurant opens from 7am-6pm, Monday to Friday and 9am -4pm on weekends . The role is zero hours, as and when required. Shift patterns are varied and depending on your availability and business needs.

Every day is different at Ellerby's and tasks include working on the tills, serving on hot counters, working in pot wash or wiping tables and sweeping floors.

Exciting times also lay ahead as their are plans to introduce new food concepts such as Subways styled deli and pizza and also the expansion of the Barista to do hot toasted sandwiches.

Duties include but not limited to:
• Working on the tills and cash handling

Duties:

Maintenance of both the UK and Far East purchase ledgers
Be the first point of contact for customer debit note queries. Liaise with both internal and external Supply Chain and Marketing departments to resolve the queries.
Responsible for collecting outstanding customer debts
Responsible for petty cash distribution, monthly reconciliation and journal input to Sage 200.
Reconciliation and processing of monthly VAT returns and quarterly Plastic Tax submission
Royalty reporting to include calculation of monthly liabilities and journal processing.
Covering general office/reception duties

Requirements:

Previous Finance administration experience desirable, but not essential
Excellent IT skills
Confident, accurate with numbers and the ability to be confidential.
