This role represents a fantastic opportunity to join an established and successful business on the outskirts of Swansea; This role requires an organised and confident financial administrator to support the business with accounts payable and receivable, credit card and expenses analysis and management, and reconciliation work. You will also hold sole responsibility for the payroll process; monitoring and managing data from the T&A system, to process and manage "end to end" payroll for the business.To be eligible for this role, you will need excellent exposure to the accounting process (this is not an entry level role), ideally in an SME environment. Although you will be working as part of a finance and admin team, I feel that this would really suit someone who has previously worked in a stand-alone/ one person finance department type of set up.... especially if you want some company in the office! Speaking of office; this role is 100% office based..... 35 hours a week (full-time) with free parking on site, with 25 days per annum annual leave (plus bank holidays). You will need to be able to work with discretion, the utmost attention to detail, and accuracy; the role will see you organising your and other team members' workloads to meet monthly accounting deadlines. About the role

We are looking for a Finance Assistant to join our busy administration team. This is a permanent and full time (Monday-Friday) position.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, full training will be given to the successful candidate.

About you

The ideal candidate will have:

• Excellent communication and organisational skills, and have good attention to detail
• A confident knowledge and experience of using Microsoft office, databases and data entry experience

I am working for a lovely organisation in the central Swansea area, which would be superb for someone who is right at the start of their accounting journey or potentially a graduate. I need someone highly numerate, academically bright and extremely focussed to take on this role with a "not for profit" organisation; although they are not currently able to support studying financially, they will consider looking at a degree of flexibility of hours to enable the successful candidate to attend college and the salary might be sufficient for you to self fund….. To start with, at least!
This is not an accounts payable or receivable post…… which is very unusual and could be welcome for someone who has done transactional finance and found it less than stimulating. Instead, I am looking for someone who is interested in preparing financial data on Excel, supporting with the financial planning processes, cost projects, supporting the billing teams as well as looking at prepayments. A really great role and lots of career progression for the right person who isn't afraid to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in!
I need someone with plenty of confidence; a self-starter who isn't afraid of stepping outside their comfort zone! It's a 37.5 hour week and remember; those hours can be factored down to accommodate some college attendance!

Main Purpose of the Job

A Credit Controller will form part of our Accounts team focusing on, but not limited to, the area of Credit Control. Reporting to the Divisional Accountant the full time, permanent role will incorporate the set up and in life management of our client's credit accounts and invoicing requirements. They must be highly motivated, organised and have excellent attention to detail and thrive in a team environment.

Location: Head Office in Garngoch, Swansea, SA4 4LL.

Hours: 8.30 - 17.00 Monday to Friday

Main Duties

• Managing 800+ client sales ledger accounts
• Daily invoicing
• Direct Debit set up and collection
• Bank reconciliation
• Nominal ledger reconciliations
• Ensuring records are up to date and accurate
• Liaising with clients, chasing outstanding debt and resolving queries.
• Other administrative duties associated with a busy Accounts department

Required Aptitude, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of, or a desire to learn Credit Control, Banking and Nominal Ledger reconciliations
• Ability to work methodically and accurately
• Ability to work to strict weekly/monthly deadlines
• Highly organised
• The ability to react to workload, using initiative to manage several tasks at once
• Proficient Microsoft 365 skills, particularly Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook
• Excellent attention to detail
• Motivated in achieving high levels of customer service
• Strong communicator with confident telephone manner and excellent written skills
• Interest in learning and using multiple software systems
• Flexible, helpful, approachable, adaptable, reliable - this role will liaise with all other teams within Day's Fleet
• Confident in contributing to regular internal Teams meetings
• Work well within a small team whilst also being self-motivated
