The Group Finance Manager will play a pivotal role within the Serco Group Reporting Team, responsible for consolidating and reporting the results of the Group’s global operations. This role involves producing both External Reporting and Internal Monthly and Quarterly Reporting, providing crucial analysis to Executive Management and the Board. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with IFRS and the Group’s accounting policies, while also offering support to Divisional finance teams.

As part of this you’ll:
- Prepare reporting and analysis of Group financial numbers and performance within strict timelines.
- Contribute to the preparation of the Annual Report and Half Year Interim Statement.
- Provide accounting support and advice to various stakeholders including Financial Planning, Investor Relations, Mergers and Acquisitions, Tax, Treasury, and Senior Management.
- Support subsidiary entity processes such as preparing statutory financial statements, Group structure rationalisation, and global dividend coordination.
- Assist in ensuring the integrity of financial data and compliance with IFRS.
- Develop business cases for system upgrades and transformations and participate in their implementation.
- Support the effective operation of controls within the Group Reporting team as well as providing support where required to the wider reporting function.
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures for the Group.
- Support the project management and delivery of the Group audit, including coordination with internal functions and third parties.
- Prepare accounting papers on various topics such as Going Concern and Viability.
- Collaborate on other ad hoc projects as required.
What you’ll need to do the role:
- Strong team player with proactive problem-solving skills and excellent communication abilities.
- Strong financial reporting and technical accounting skills (IFRS), ideally with experience in listed plc reporting.
- Practical understanding of internal controls over financial reporting frameworks (ICOFR).
- ACA or ACCA qualification with experience in a Group Reporting function.
- Experience with SAP (especially BPC consolidation software) would be beneficial.
- Keen interest in personal development, technology, and data-driven insights.
- Mature interpersonal skills with the ability to earn the respect of senior management.
- Structured and methodical work approach with a focus on timely delivery and ownership.
- Comfortable making decisions independently while also consulting when necessary.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
